Blade, the vampire who hunts his own kind by utilizing all of their strengths and none of their weaknesses was first a comic, then a film franchise and is now an all out video slot. There are two Blade slots and this one by Playtech is generally regarded as being the best of the pair.
Blade Slot Theme
The slot fills the screen edge to edge with dark reels surrounded by a blood red background. The reel markers are red whilst the buttons have been given a metal appearance with blood splatters across the spin button. An official Blade logo is placed at the top with four progressive Marvel Power progressive jackpot counters (two either side).
Each of the reel icons has been given a bespoke look, even the royal suit (10, J, Q, K, A) symbols animate with lashings of blood when involved in a winning payout. Other icons include weapons such as the boomerang blade, silver stakes, guns and general icons such as vampires, blade logos and blade split icons (more on this later).
The overall look is in keeping with the edgy, serious nature of the day walker and we therefore feel the designers have done a good job.
The total bet options are also very good as they range from 0.01 (1 penny) to $/£/€200. Players can select from a variety of coin values, place multiple coins per line (1 to 10) and change the number of lines in play from 1 to 20. This offers great variety and more importantly allows gamblers to configure their own perfect bet.
Blade Slot Features
The Blade character icon plays as a wild symbol which substitutes for all other symbols except the Blade Split and scatter. Incidentally six of these icons pays the 25,000 coin jackpot.
You may have noticed I said six icons are needed to win the jackpot, but there are only five reels, this is where the Blade Split icon comes in. It appears on the fifth reel and when combined with two or more icons on its payline causes one to split. This creates a winning combination with an impressive animation where blade leaps to cut the icon in half with his samurai sword.
Three or more Blade logo scatter symbols awards 15 free spins. Every win gained increases the multiplier applied to the win to a maximum of 5. Once 5x has been reached any spin without a win reduces the multiplier again. The bonus symbol also becomes a sticky wild when it appears during free spins, this is in addition to the standard Blade wild.
As this is a Marvel slot is benefits from linked progressive jackpots, four in fact. The Marvel Jackpot appears at random with twenty squares to choose from. You click until three identical symbols have been revealed at which point the Power, Extra Power, Super Power or Ultimate Power jackpot is paid.

Based on the popular science fiction character, this game is true to it's original idol. Seems to dish out pretty decent wins and is pretty entertaining too, good features with multipliers. Definitely one of the better Playtech games out there, try this one if you are bored with the old classics.
