Theme

The background fills with ice and fire, both filling space in eternal competition for influence on the universe. Or something like that. There’s a bit of music there as well, but it is mostly lost to the other sound effects, which in turn don’t add much to the game. The reels offer standard symbols with the titular icons thrown in for maximum payout. The theme isn’t all that complicated, yet it works perfectly for this slot.

Betting Options and Functions

The game comes with a criss-cross system of paylines running across the three reels. In total there are 27 paylines, which in turn means that as long as there are matching symbols sitting on each reel you are going to cash in a win. The betting is done via total bet selector, which runs from 0.20 to 100 coins per spin. The variance is extremely high, which means you can easily go a dozen spins without a win.

The payouts always come from three matching symbols running from left to right. They are also multiplies of the total bet instead of the line bet. Cherries and lemons will give you twice your total bet, oranges three times the bet, plums five times, grapes ten times and melons 20 times the total bet. What you are, of course, hoping for is as many matching symbols as possible to grab multiple wins at a time. This does happen if you can stomach the long arrays of spins without any wins.

Features

The two main symbols both pay out a cool one hundred times your total bet when three are on the reels. Whenever you get two of these symbols a respins is automatically launched, with a chance to land the third symbol on the reels for an instant win. Even if that doesn’t work out you get a chance to score some more wins with the other symbols

There’s also a mystery symbol which shows up every so often. When three are on the reels you get a random payout that can be anything between 2 and 100 times your total bet.

Our Take

This is one of those slots where the extreme volatility just works. If you have the guts to suffer a winter of discomfort with no winning spins, and just wait for that burst of wins then this slot is surely worth playing. The higher your bet is the more you’re gonna like all of this. But, you also need to know when to stop. Surprisingly this is one very intriguing slot. SYNOT Games has done an excellent job here, it’s just a shame more players haven’t found out about the game.
