You’ll find a star about to go supernova in the background, which is as far as the theme goes here. Otherwise, this slot is all about classic gameplay, with no extra functions besides gamble added. Few paylines, low bet level, and overall good wins might still attract some players. Theme

A dark sun blasts in the background. It’s a shame the theme wasn't taken further than this, as such setting would fit some kind of apocalyptic vision, which are quite popular in entertainment right now. Music and sound effects are non-existent. The symbols come from the classic line-up. Cherries, lemons, oranges, watermelons, plums, and grapes will be all you’ll find on the reels. Themewise this is a rather empty slot.

Betting Options and Functions

The five paylines are fixed, they offer wins from left to right, and they run through five reels with three rows. Nothing unusual there. The game comes with six fruit symbols and with the blazing star top symbol. Wins are extremely scarce, so don’t expect to be overjoyed with every spin. When they do hit the payouts tend to be good.

Two cherries pay out five times your line bet, with all other fruits needing a minimum of three symbols. With three symbols you can get anything between twenty and a hundred times your line, with four symbols the range is between 100 and 1000 coins, and with five symbols between 200 and five thousand coins. The blazing sun itself is what rewards the biggest payouts. Suffice to say, hitting five symbols in a row is extremely rare. In fact, even getting the three is quite difficult. That’s why the payouts are high though.

Features

The only feature available is the gamble. Couldn’t be more classic than this really. Whenever you do land a win you are given the chance to cash it in, use the card gamble or the ladder gamble.

With the card gamble, you need to decide on the color of the card. You don’t need to bet your whole pot at one go, as you can decide to collect half and bet only half; as many times as you like in fact. Chances to win are of course 50 - 50.

The ladder gamble works a bit different. As you can imagine, in this you climb up a ladder towards a bigger win. You don’t need to guess anything here, just press the button. And when you do you either climb one step up or go two or more steps down. You can collect half as usual. Luckwise you’re not likely to win multiple times in succession, but occasionally this might turn small wins into big ones worth having.

Our Take

Nothing new under the blazing star, just a one symbol difference to most other classic slots. Games like Sizzling Hot Deluxe drive the same exact same purpose. When it comes to classic slots one would expect a bit more entertainment in the form of animations and music today. Nothing wrong with this game, yet it doesn’t offer anything new either.
