Theme

If you aren’t familiar with ice hockey, here’s your chance to get to know more about the game. The reels are chock-full of different symbols, all themed for ice hockey. 

The graphics are excellent, even though they don’t offer much improvement over the original. 

It’s the SOUND EFFECTS that really make the game come alive, bringing that hockey stadium feel onto your screen. 

All in all, the theme couldn’t be more perfect.

Betting Options and Functions

The original Break Away was quite different, as it used the 243 ways-to-win system. 

Here, this layout has been replaced with different pay-line setups:

You can CHOOSE 18, 38, 68 or 88 pay-lines to play with. 

The reel setup is five times five, so the more pay-lines you have active, the more wins you are going to score. Well, if you’re lucky!

Since the offering comes with several special features, the basic wins aren’t the highest. They are still able to brighten your day though…

Break Away Deluxe Slot Features

Rolling reels, or cascading symbols, is the modern-day mechanic that you will run into on every winning spin. Whenever symbols form into a combination, the winning ones will disappear and new ones will drop into place. 

This gives you a chance to score consecutive wins on a SINGLE spin.

Thesmashing wilds come into play through random hockey players entering the reels. This will turn one of the middle reels full of wilds and guarantees a win. The wilds stay in place for further wins.

With scatters, you get the bonus games:

These come with the wilds, that stick in place for the duration of the feature. But there is also an increasing multiplier!  Each win will drive the multiplier upwards, with up to eight times the wins to be had. The multiplier reset on a non-winning spin.

Our Take

There certainly is a lot going on in here. The theme and style might not be that different from the original game, but the sound effects, music, and most importantly, the gameplay functions are. 

The payout potential has been increased, which is to say that if you liked the original slot, you are going to love this one too!
