In a loose way, this game is based on ancient Celtic culture ... sort of. The Celts were an ancient tribe of warriors who would run screaming into battle stark naked and painted blue from head to go, as wearing armour was considered cowardly.

Thankfully, this game takes a far more romantic approach to the period and there is no pictures of hairy naked men to scar your eyeballs. Instead, you'll be treated to wonderful mediaeval imagery with a very classy, mystical feel to it, and all beautifully animated. Expect roses, golden harps, fair maidens and swords and shields, along with poker high cards in some of the most extremely gilded fonts I've ever seen.

Celtic Crown is a five reel slot with 25 pay lines. As with all Microgaming slots, you get to enable or disable pay lines at will before each spin.

The game takes bets between one cent and a quarter, with the max coin limit of 250 coins. The jackpot is normally set at 10,000 coins, but this can be boosted during play by encountering multipliers.

The Wild symbol is represented by the Princess. She completes any activated pay lines except scatters, but she does not directly act as a multiplier. This is because she has a much better purpose: launching the bonus game.

If you get a princess anywhere in reels 2, 3 and 4, the Princess Bonus Game launches. Six knights kneel before the Princess and offer her gifts, and you must choose which 3 to accept. The contents of their gifts is the coin bonus that you win, which can double (or even quadruple) by playing an optional gamble game.
