Chibeasties (2015) is another brilliant slot from Yggdrasil. We will not hide from you that the developer is one of our favorites. Why? Theme
Chibeasties are curious critters difficult to categorize. It goes without saying that they’re 100% fictional; however, they remind us of the Kodama depicted in Studio Ghibli’s masterpiece “Princess Mononoke”. A radiant gem encasing a druid’s staff serves as the game’s wild. The free spins totem symbols acts as the scatter.
The wild substitutes for all symbols except for the scatter.
The scatter triggers the bonus game. Lining up 3, 4, or 5 totems will award you 10, 20, or 40 free spins. Before the actual mode commences, one symbol (chosen at random; wilds included) will expand for the duration of the bonus game. All instances of that symbol appearing during the free spins mode will expand to cover the entire reel. The expansion happens after the first win evaluation. If a symbol expanded, a second win evaluation would occur afterwards.
Our Take
As we’ve stated all too clearly already, Yggdrasil always delivers. Chibeasties is both rewarding and visually impressive. It would appear that many gamblers agree, since the slot has got a sequel (2017).
