Theme

The theme is a combination of sci-fi and gems. It would be too far off if we said this slot is quite similar to Starburst, but with a modern touch. The graphics are very detailed, and even if the background is a bit non-descript it still works wonderfully with the theme.

The music and sound effects are a bit dystopian in nature, which again fit the theme nicely.

Betting Options and Functions

There are 25 paylines, with the playfield composed of five equal reels of three symbols each. All the lines are always in play, which means that betting is as easy as selecting how many coins you want to bet per line. The minimum is 0.01 and maximum of 2 coins per line, which gives a total stake range of 0.25 and 50 coins. Quite fitting for all players!

There is a total of nine symbols, one of them being the wild. The wild pays out 1000 times the line bet when five are on a payline, otherwise, it simply substitutes for all other symbols.

The most valuable crystal pays the same, with the other crystal paying considerably less. With three symbols you are looking at returns between two and fifty times the line bet. Like you would expect, this speaks of high variance.

Features

All symbols that take part in a winning combination give way for new symbols. This continues as long as new winning combinations are formed after which a new spin is needed. At the beginning of each bonus fall…

…a random wild grid pattern is chosen. If you get three successive falls the pattern is activated and all symbols in it become wilds.

There are twenty different possibilities with different outcomes. For example, one grid adds two wilds into the reels, whereas another will turn three whole reels into wilds. Up to luck which one you get. With the right combination wilds and symbols, the cashouts are astronomical!

Our Take

Crystal Rift is a solid game with some sizeable wins. The bonus falls feature results in increased possibilities to score big wins, especially once the bonus grids drop in. The game is superb for mobile devices and is better enjoyed in short bursts. One downside is the fact that only the wilds and the most valuable symbol really matter here. Everything else is a bit of a filler.
