A few decades ago most casinos used to have coin-pusher machines inside them, allowing their customers to have some fun while hoping to fill their pockets with quarters. This kind of game is less complicated than slots, and definitely a lot more accessible than card games or roulette.
Sadly, nowadays casinos don’t feature such machines anymore. But we can always turn to the online world, that’s where the coin dozers are alive and kicking!
The game creators at Skywind decided to take the whole thing up a notch and they made an interesting mix between a video slot and a coin pusher in Dragon Dozer, an intriguing product with an Asian theme.
Theme
The action takes place somewhere in a mountainous region of China, we can see big temples and mountain peaks in the background while the actual gaming machine is set next to a river bridge.
The golden dragon pushes his tongue out and moves the coins further down the bridge, while on the other end there is a bucket ready to collect the winnings. However, there will be coins that will fall into the water on either side.
The game tends to mimic the coin-pusher machines that we used to see in land-based casinos, but it succeeds in taking the whole thing to another level. There is a jolly Asian tune playing in the background, making the whole atmosphere quite relaxed and optimistic.
Betting Options and Functions
The setup of this game is quite unusual, there is a one-line slot available but the main action takes place on the coin dozer part. You will play the game one coin at a time, and as more and more coins get added some of them will be pushed back into your hands.
You can however choose the value of the coins, it can be anywhere between just one cent and 10 dollars. This title has a return to player percentage of 96.50, which is slightly higher than the industry average.
Features
The game is quite simple, you keep adding coins to the mix and hope to get as many as them back into your bucket on the other end of the bridge. However, you just wouldn’t believe how many special features there are in this slot!
I counted no less than 14 of them, with only 6 available from the get-go while the others can be unlocked after achieving certain targets during the game. The Mystery Box object is what you need in order to unlock more and more features, and it is available at the beginning of the game. One of the features that you can unlock is Big Basket, which expands the size of your coin-collecting bucket for a limited amount of time.
The first feature that will come to your attention when starting to play this game is the Coin Multiplier, you will see certain coins with between x2 and x5 multipliers attached and those will pay extra when getting into the winning area.
The Coin Wall can land randomly on the reels, and when it does a wall will be erected on either side of the bridge, preventing the special prizes from falling into the water. Moreover, sometimes the wall can come with a 3x multiplier attached, which gives increased prizes for every coin that drops while the feature is active.
The Lucky Wheel is a special object that can drop randomly among your coins, and if it sticks around and falls into your bucket then you will get to spin the wheel. The prizes that await are significant, including the Jackpot!
That’s right, this game has a progressive jackpot attached, and you can only win it through the Lucky Wheel feature.
If the reels show three Coin Shower symbols, then this feature will trigger and fill the playing area with coins. This will most likely lead to more and more coins dropping into the winning area, filling your pockets.
Another feature that will improve your chances of winning is Shake It, which will cause a small earthquake that will make the bridge tremble and send more coins your way.
There’s also a Big Coin feature that can drop randomly, it’s size is quite impressive and it pays out 10 times the value of a normal coin. As more and more mystery boxes drop, you will be able to unlock new features like Coin Stacks, Ice Time, Long Push, Big Bang, Magnet and Card Bonus.
Conclusion
Dragon Dozer is a surprising little game from Skywind, at a first glance it looks quite simple and even boring, but once you start playing you will certainly be surprised.
The gameplay is not boring at all, mainly thanks to the numerous features that can spice things up at any time. The graphics are not too bad either, while that progressive jackpot surely is a target worth aiming for.
