Dragons are legendary creatures. They have always been a part of our fantasy world and it is hard to imagine an epic story without these beasts. They are extremely popular in Chinese culture and the other eastern-Asian countries as well. Amatic decided to create a video slot called Dragon’s Pearl and use the other elements from the ancient China as well to attract as many players as possible!

Theme

The dragons might be in the center of attention when it comes to this game, but, overall, the theme is ancient China. The background is painted in the red color together with the reels, and the symbols are placed against it. This color alone contributes to the overall feel of the game significantly.

When it comes to the symbols, the developer decided to avoid any classic icons such as playing cards, fruit, etc. Instead, they are using well-designed animals such as butterflies, birds, turtles, peacocks, tigers, winged lions, fish as well as the lotus flower. Moreover, players will encounter a man and a woman dressed in ancient Chinese clothing, a pearl and our titular character – the dragon.

The graphics could have been slightly better but it gives the game a certain value just the way it is. The sounds also need improvement.

Betting Options and Other Functions

This is a 4x5 video game and it features 50 pay-lines. Before you get caught up in the experience and start spinning those reels, you should adjust your bet. Unfortunately, you only have several options and the lowest bet per line is 1.0. That being said, the minimum bet is 1 but the highest wagering reaches 1000!

All of the controls are positioned below the reels with two useful controls such as “Auto Start” in the bottom left corner and “Gamble” in the middle.

Autoplay can be activated and stopped at any point during the game. After every win, you will have a chance to double your profit by guessing the color or the color and the suit of the upcoming card!

To make this game more engaging, Amatic decided to include two symbols which role is going to bring you high winnings! They are the following:

Wild symbol is actually a dragon and it consists of the four symbols meaning that it can land and cover the entire reel! Its role is to substitute any other icon, except the scatter.

Meanwhile, the scatter is a pearl and you need three of those anywhere on the reels to get five bonus spins. The extra round can be retriggered, and you can also boost up free spins if a pearl lands on the reels. For each pearl, you will be awarded with one additional spin!

Our Take on Dragon’s Pearl

This release is going to be appealing to all the fans of the Chinese culture and the fantasy creatures. Although graphics aren’t perfect, I love the way the symbols are designed – they will get you completely immersed with the game! Features are cool, but 5 spins in the bonus round is not as much as one can hope for.
