Ah, the good old times of the Wild West… We’ve seen so many online video slot games with such theme, where cowboys, indians, bandits, sheriffs, and all sorts of vigilantes get united in a positevely creative mess!
Over the years there have been some great and quite innovative interpretations of the Wild West, such as the Westworld TV Show, but only a few have managed to squeeze out such magnificence out of an online slot game…
…but Gold Rush Showdown is definitely one of the few! The good folks at Ash Gaming have delivered quite a gem that’s definitely worthy of your attention…
…so let’s see what’s it really got under the hood.
Theme
Without further ado, let’s just say that the reels are pretty basic, so are the symbols, and they are placed in a wooden frame set against a black background. Behind the reels you will see the inside of a saloon on the right side and the setting for a high noon gundown on the left…
Even though the graphics may not be the cutting edge of the latest design endeavors, the game is very humorous, it moves fast, and the symbols are quite cheerful.
These include a pair of pistols, spurs, a cowboy hat, a sheriff’s badge, a bag of gold, Lucky Lucy, and Handsome Hos.
Along with these, you will be greeted by a plethora of different bonus symbols in the form of characters such as the Bandit King, El Bandito, Billy the Quid, and the Big Bad Bull as the wild and Prospector Pete as the scatter.
Betting Options and Other Functions
Before you load your pistol and venture off into a lonesome adventure, let’s first show you all the controls and options.
There are 20 selectable paylines across five reels, and there is even a separate button to select all of them if you get tired of different strategies.
The auto play saves your index fingers from getting sore from clicking away on the spin button, and the bets can be adjusted from 0.05 to 1.00 per each payline, so the maximum bet amounts to 20.00.
Features
If you’ve ever played Gin Joint Jackpot before, you’ll probably recognize some of the bonus features in here!
Cowboys vs Bandits - Landing Billy the Quid on the first reel along with any other bandit to the right will trigger a shooting game where you need to take down as many bandits before you gun down the Bandit King and collect all his loot. If the loot contains three diamonds you will be awarded with the progressive jackpot!
In reels Gunfight - If you land up to four banditos anywhere on the screen, it wil trigger a shootout in which you collect cash for all dead bad guys.
Prospector - Landing at least three scatters anywhere on the screen will prompt you to dig and possibly score some gold!
Our Take on Gold Rush Showdown
It’s been a while since we’ve last seen a Wild West themed online slot game that’s as innovative, addictive and generous as the Gold Rush Showdown!

Heres another game where you'll need your reading glasses should you intend to study the paytable in any detail! Infact I had to turn the zoom right up on my browser in order to make any sense of the text - I'm glad I did though, because the slot is a lot of fun and has some great wins on offer! Heres another game where you'll need your reading glasses should you intend to study the paytable in any detail! Infact I had to turn the zoom right up on my browser in order to make any sense of the text - I'm glad I did though, because the slot is a lot of fun and has some great wins on offer! One big reservation I have though, is that I'm really not trusting of the wagerworks table games, and cannot help being suspicious of their slots too as a result. I know it's probably just silly gut instinct stuff, but I have lost way more money than seems likely given a fair game playing their blackjack, so feel I ought to mention it.
