Theme

Some sort of infernal machine forms the playground here, with all sorts of gears working around to turn the wheels into a more favourable position. The music is mostly nonexistant, with the sound effects playing all sort of sounds you’d expect from machinery. Nothing wrong with the quality, but it doesn’t exactly create an immersive world of sounds you wouldn’t want to turn off. The graphics compose of all sorts of gear-like things, with the different characters playing the major role.

Betting Options and Functions

The game has five reels, each with four symbol positions. The bet is set by simply selecting the total you want to spend on each spin, with enough possibilities for low and high bets alike. Settings include autoplay functions, sped up reels, as well as the option to mute the game. You can also use the space bar to spin the reels instead of clicking the button.

There are forty paylines, all fixed, and all running from left to right. The three top symbols pay between fifty and one hundred times your line bet, with the low-paying symbols returning between three and 25 times the line bet. Quite a medium variance slot by the looks of it. The top symbols are all big enough to fill the whole reel, which plays a big part in the slot.

Features

On the middle reels, two, three, and four, you have the possibility of landing wilds that will expand to cover all four symbol positions. In case the wild is not fully visible at first it will nudge to take control of the whole reel. Every time a nudge happens you will receive an increase of one in the win multiplier.

Landing three scatters will award the player with seven free spins. Every time a scatter lands during the feature you get additional spins added to the total. The amount depends on the position the scatter lands in.

The slot gets its name from the third feature: when two of the top symbols land on the first two reels they will nudge to take control of the reels completely. Though this is a welcome feature it doesn’t add anything to the game besides the nudge movements.

Our Take

Hot Nudge comes with excellent graphics, forgettable sound effects, and medium variance. The slot is nice to look at, but unfortunately tends to fail a bit with the wins. They are just no high enough to warrant long playthroughs. If you are into steampunk slots you should opt for games like Steam Tower instead.
