Lucky Cat Blackjack is a new and innovative take on the classic blackjack game. Taking inspiration from classic blackjack, a game revered in both land-based and online casinos, developer Bunfox has added a charming theme and a fun feature game.
It’s the blackjack you know and love but with a new twist.
Theme
Looking around the table here you’ll see a familiar sight. Chips, the shoe containing 8 decks of 52 cards, and a nice table with the requisite red cloth.
But wait a minute….
…where’s the dealer?!
The dealer in Lucky Cat Blackjack is neither invisible nor a human, like in most computer versions of blackjack. Instead, a “maneki neko” (the titular Lucky Cat) will be your dealer and your guide through this game.
When it comes to the visual presentation of this table game we do have one nit-pick. With the background and the cat being in sharp HD, it’s a little jarring that the cards themselves seem to be in a lower resolution.
How to Play Lucky Cat Blackjack
You start a game here as you do anywhere else. Click on the appropriate chip for the amount you wish to bet, it goes from 1 to 500, and then choose deal.
The cards will be dealt and you will have the option to hit, stand, double down, and (in certain cases) split. One of the dealer’s cards will always be hidden until the end of the round.
The rules are quite simple and players should have an easy time grasping them. Blackjack pays 3:2, insurance pays 2:1 and a standard win pays even. It’s possible to split a hand that contains a pair or any two face (10-point) cards. The dealer will automatically add a card to each of the new hands. After this, the play resumes normally.
The game is played with eight standard decks of 52 cards and the dealer must hit on a soft 17.
Special Feature
There is a fun special feature on offer here which is triggered when the dealer busts on 22. If the player doesn’t have a blackjack, the Lucky Cat Dice Feature begins.
During this feature, four dice will be cast and depending on how many lucky paw prints land, the player will win from 1:1 (one paw print) to 1:100 (four prints) prize based on their bet. If no lucky paws land, it’s a push.
Our Take
This is a fun game with a charming theme and easy to understand rules. The special feature adds a little spice to standard blackjack. It’s a perfect game for beginners and pros alike.
