Neptune's Gold, as you'd expect, is an undersea themed video slot. It offers free spins, scatters and wilds which are triggered by various themed icons spread over five reels. Players are able to choose from a range of wagers, including being able to configure up to 20 paylines on their quest for prizes which reach up to $12,500.
Neptune's Gold Theme
Neptune's Gold uses a five reel format which is designed to look like a sunken city complete with columns, sea life and stone themed buttons. Each of the reel icons also follows an undersea theme with Neptune obviously taking on a starring role. He's joined by mermaids, treasure chests, gold coins, seahorses, dolphins and clams.
There's also a selection of traditional reel figures which have been given an aquatic overhaul. These include the number 10 with fish, J with an eel, Q with an octopus, K with a clownfish and A with a giant squid.
Betting Options and More Functions
There are various wagers available which range from 0.01 to £/€/$50. This is a fairly wide range which gives players plenty of choice whether they be playing for fun or for serious cash.
Neptune's Gold Slot Features
The pearl filled clamshell icon is wild which enables it to substitute for other icons to create more winning connections. Not only does this create more winning chances but also doubles prize amounts in the process.
The golden scatter awards 1, 2, 15 or 200 times the triggering bet when 2, 3, 4 or 5 icons appear during a single spin. This is a nice addition to standard icons because wins are paid wherever the icons fall, whereas other prizes need icons which appear in a row.
Bonus icons also work in any position although you need three in order to trigger the free spin bonus game. This allows you to take your destiny into your own hands by first choosing one of six treasure chests to reveal the number of free spins. Once you've done this you are asked to choose one gold object from the chest to reveal a multiplier which is applied to any wins gained during your allotted free spins.
Our Take on Neptune's Gold
There are countless Neptune themed slots out there and this is one of the best looking about. Features are similar to other slots, especially the other slots within Chartwell's lineup which isn't a bad thing because each one has the potential to pay well. It's included at any of the casinos below, many of which offer other Chartwell slots too.

Winning with the regular signs is just bad and you have to wait for the big bonus round. Since you depend on the bonus round, this is not a good game and the graphics are horroble too. Not my cup of tee.

I've realised since I wrote a review of another Amaya game that I got somewhat confused by the paytable because upon entering it there is a slider at the bottom allowing you to choose the number of coins you intend to play and the payouts will be adjusted accordingly. This appears to set to the maximum value of 10 on all games initially, so be sure to set this when checking the paytable to give you an accurate representation, or personally, I like to just see the payouts for a single coin as I am used to working out my wins from these base figures on any other game. After changing this setting to the minimum level, I was not really very impressed with the payouts on Neptunes Gold - sure the five wilds has a bumper payoff, but many of the bottom symbols are really quite low and even the top standard symbol is only 300 coins for five of a kind. I can only deduce then that this is at the lower end of Amayas variance scale, so its not really a slot for me. Maybe for wagering a bonus though !
