Theme and Symbols

All the animals that you’d expect to be on the reels are there: elephants, zebras, rhinos, and antelopes. No meat-eaters this time around, instead you have a few basic playing card suites to make up the cadre of low-value symbols.

The sound effects are full of life, and a bit of music is added to make things a bit more interesting. Overall, the quality of the graphic is fitting for smaller and larger screens alike.

Betting Options and Functions

The five times three-reel setup makes this a pretty standard game. There’s an extra reel at the top of the slot to change that dynamic, but we’ll get to that in the special features.

The slot comes with quite a few paylines, enough to crowd the reels, and ensure that subsequent matching symbols will always result in payouts. That is to say, 40 paylines travel from left to right.

The payouts go from double your line bet to 500x the line bet. Quite fitting for the volatility, and with some chance to score wins that you want to withdraw on the spot.

So, about that extra reel…

It’s called a Prize Disk, and it is triggered by the bonus scatter symbols. When they hit the right spots, you win the prizes, which can run into thousands, display at the top of the reels. Quite simple and efficient.

During the bonus spins, the above can be triggered on any reel, during base game only in the middle reels. The bonus spins are quite traditional, in that they are triggered with scatters. You do however get more spins during the feature by landing the bonus scatter symbol, with the maximum set at 250.

Our Take

Elephant King by IGT is very much a product of classic gaming. It doesn’t try to be hip or to sway the player with too many visuals and such. That makes it quite a good slot, particularly as it just concentrates on big wins, sometimes rivalling the size of the namesake being.
