French Roulette is a game of roulette that has some subtle differences in the rules. Microgaming offers French Roulette at many of its online casinos and it has proved to be fairly popular among the patrons. Unlike regular roulette tables, French Roulette table does not feature black. The wheel however, is the same as any other kind of roulette, with alternate reed and black numbers. The French Roulette board, like the name suggests, is in French.
The betting in French Roulette is very similar to the betting in any other form of roulette, except that it allows players to place a few special Call bets. There are a number of different call bets like the Voisins du Zero, which is a bet on numbers that surround the “Zero” on the French Roulette Wheel. Other kinds of call bets include the Tiers du Cylindre, which are bets on numbers that are diagonally across from the Zero, Orphan bets, which are bets on any numbers that are not included in the Voisins or Tiers bets. Apart from these, there are also the Finales en Plein and Finales a Cheval, which are bets on numbers that end in a certain number and a certain pair of numbers respectively.

I won't pretend to understand the intricacies of European Roulette versus French Roulette - I don't really understand the wording on the table infact, but I can assume what it means based on what would be written on a european table. What I do know, is that usually the "En Prison" rule will be offered, whereby when the ball lands in zero, your bet becomes imprisoned, but can be won back on a next successful spin, and also there are a different set of special call bets. It's quite rare to find French Roulette done properly online so Kudos to Microgaming for offering it - though I wouldn't expect any less in truth, they have the most resources of anybody afterall.
