The story of One Thousand and One Nights is considered a classic of world literature and it has been captivating readers for centuries. 

It’s not strange then, that it has been adapted over and over into various other media. From movies, to comic books, and even video games.

Here’s a new take on the subject in the form of a slot, courtesy of the development team at Yggdrasil.

Theme 

Obviously, since the game is inspired by the story of Scheherazade and her 1000 nights of storytelling, the theme here is heavily influenced by Arabian culture and architecture.

It’s seen everywhere in the design of the game from the arabesque ornaments on the border of the game area to the background set on a terrace of a vast palace overlooking the minarets and the sands of Sahara.

Everything in the game is appropriately designed to evoke the feeling of mystery and sophistication which ends up creating a very interesting and engaging vibe for the punters.

Totally fitting with the narrative theme, of course, since One Thousand and One Nights is a very cultural and sophisticated thing to base a game on.

The symbols…

…are all based off characters in the stories. There is the mighty Sultan as the highest paying and right below him, the story-teller Scheherazade. Ali Baba also makes an appearance as well as a saber and a decorative chalice.
