Theme
Each gaming symbol in Slotomoji is an emoji that can likely be found in the text messages of the player’s phone. They include a red angry face, a green sick-looking one, a purple emoji face with a big smile and cool sunglasses on, a blue face with a tear in one of its eyes, a red, smitten face with hearts for eyes, and a yellow face with a big, happy smile. Lower-value symbols include a star, a musical note, and a lightning bolt. Wild symbols, which only appear stacked, taking up an entire line, take human form as either a ballerina, a samurai, or a fabulously-dressed disco man. The soundtrack is upbeat and would fit well into a classic video arcade game.
Betting Options, Functions, and Features
The ten paylines in this game are set, but bets sized from one-ten credits, a rather small window of possibility relative to other similar games. There is an auto play feature, which will continue to spin the reels in perpetuity until it is toggled off (or until credits are exhausted), and a turbo feature, which will speed up the reels. One trademark Endorphina feature, the chance to take any win to double-or-nothing, is present in this slot. After any win, click on the “take risk” button next to the spin button to bring up five playing cards. The only real original feature in Slotomoji is its wild system, in which stacked wilds trigger a free spin (with the wild remaining in place). The interesting element of this feature is this: each free spin win receives a multiplier, and free spins continue until a win is achieved, with the multiplier increasing without limit with each additional attempt. This means, in theory, that an astronomical win is possible should the respin mechanism take several dozen attempts to land on a win… in practice, however, the stacked wild usually means that one of the first several attempts is successful.
Our Take
While the concept of this game is innovative, play itself is somewhat uninspired. Nevertheless, what this game does it does well, and it’s well worth a try for players who are Endorphina (or emoji) fans.
