Once Space Botz loads you’ll be faced with 5 reels that look out into another galaxy. The reels are surrounded by a glass panel which is similar to the Millennium Falcon of Star Wars fame.

I was initially miffed that the slot seemed quiet, in fact is was eerily silent. Thankfully as soon as you spin the reels a futuristic space theme tune plays and key wins also produce their own sound effects.

There’s a good range of reel icons too which unsurprisingly are dominated by robots that want to rule the galaxy. On the reels you will find Space Botz logos, wilds, rocket man robots, futuristic drone robots, old school robots, satellites and 6 traditional style icons that all become animated when a win is produced.

Betting Options and More Functions

Lines can be configured but not in two different ways. Space Botz does away with toggles in this instance and allows players to either slide the line marker to their desired number (1 to 25 lines per game) or use the button below the reels. The red button allows you to set your coin value and you can use up to 10 coins per line; all in all we’d say that’s more than ample choice.

At first glance you may think automatic spins have not been included. Thankfully they can be switched on by pressing ‘expert’ in the slots footer. This adds a more detailed control panel which includes automatic spins.

The revolving wild icons remind me of splitting atoms but actually represent a distant planet. Regardless of looks it still acts as a standard wild feature, substituting for any regular symbol except the scattered Space Botz logo. This wild will only award the highest prize, so there’s no chance of multiple wins off a single wild.

Three, four or five scattered Space Botz icons will trigger 5 free spins. This may not seem like a lot but it’s worth noting that every robot will turn into wild icons. This means each spin will likely benefit from at least one wild and if you’re lucky multiple wilds will appear.

Space Botz is yet another solid slot from Microgaming. It’s not their very best game but is an excellent all-rounder as it blends a good range of betting options and features with an interesting space-age theme.
