Spanish Blackjack is a popular variant of the standard game of 21 or Blackjack and it is available for play at many Microgaming casinos. Like most other games of Blackjack, this version is also very popular, with many professionals preferring it to the standard Blackjack game. The game is played on a standard table, and the big difference between Blackjack and Spanish Blackjack is that it is played on a deck where all the natural 10s are removed. Although this removal gives the house a bigger advantage, there are some additional rules and bonuses that even out the advantage.
The most important thing to remember in Spanish Blackjack is that a player’s Blackjack (total of 21) always beats the dealers Blackjack. The bonuses in the game include the Bonus 21, which gives the player an additional payout depending on how the total of 21 is achiever. For example, a 21 total with 5 cards has a payout of 3:2, while a 21 total achiever with 6-7-8 of Spades has a payout of 3:1. There is also a Super Bonus, which is awarded to the player when the player’s hand is 7-7-7 and the dealer also draws a 7. Other features of this game include Double Down Rescue, Pair Splitting and Late Surrender.

Spanish Blackjack adds a whole host of features to the regular blackjack game that require major changes in strategy if you wish to maintain a high payout percentage, but once you master these changes the payback can actually be higher than regular blackjack depending on the specific casinos rules, and some of the most frustrating moments from regular blackjack are avoided, for example a player blackjack ALWAYS wins including against a dealer blackjack, and when doubling down on an 8 or 9 if you catch a low card you can double once again for a second shot at that elusive paint ! :) Also worth a mention are the bonus payouts - many different kinds of 21 hand earn a bonus on top of your regular payout, for example 7-7-7, or any 5 more card 21. These bonuses range from 2:1 right upto 50:1, and whilst you may not see a whole of bunch of them per session, it certainly makes this a more interesting game than regular blackjack! One more time though - LEARN THE STRATEGY BEFORE PLAYING !!
