Tut, short for Tutankhamon, is perhaps the favourite character when it comes to slot designers. Or perhaps it is just that ancient Egypt with its pyramids and riches represents wealth to the extent that not a single developer can resist the temptation of using the theme. Luckily, Just For The Win has stuffed the game full of features and other influences that easily make it rise above other similar slots.
Theme
The theme is a combination of ancient Egypt and the explorers who are unearthing it a few thousand years later. The goal is to find King Tut himself, supposedly in order to loot the riches of his temple. The graphics are excellent, and the style very fitting for the game. The music and audio effects are there but do not spice up the gameplay experience a lot. For one reason or another, the theme sits better than in most other games using the same material.
Betting Options and Functions
There’s nothing too drastic from the norm here. Five reels, three rows, and ten fixed paylines running through them. The RTP is pretty much the industry average, and the wins offered are both big and small depending on what will show up on the screen. Total bet can be easily adjusted to fit your bankroll.
One surprising feature here is that the paylines pay out from both directions, which significantly increases the number of hits you get. Volatility is pretty much medium here, which means that most wins are not all that life-changing. To balance this, the game comes with some worthwhile special features.
Features
The Super Reels are without a doubt the most interesting and worthy feature here. The effect activates at random and is always there for free spins. Once you get the Super Reels one to five reels will activate their wilds, which will stack up to half of each reel. The more reels turn into wilds the higher payout you can expect.
It’s the above that also makes the free spins worth the money. Landing three to five scatters will trigger 8, 15, or 30 free spins. These can be further re-triggered during the feature, with the addition that two symbols are enough to grant you two free spins. Naturally, what you want is the thirty spins with the super reels so you can cash in big time.
Our Take
Temple of Tut uses the same old theme but has done it in a new and surprising way. Most importantly, the special features are worth the investment. There are really no downsides to the game, the only reason not to play is that it simply doesn’t fit your personal preference. We would suggest taking a look via the demo mode, and jump in with real cash once if you like the slot as much as we do.

This slot is definitely average: not much bad stuff can be said about it but there is no magic to report on. Save for the Super Reels features, and its availability during free spins, what kind of treasure is awaiting the players? Nothing much indeed. The sound and music are really well produced, and so are the graphics....

Makes you wonder whether Quickspin have an internet connection! Have they seen the graphics and gameplay coming out from Yggdrasil and Plan N Go? What about that foreground which looks like a pavement rather than a temple? The max payout also seems to be very low. Wonder why anyone should play this slot
