The Phantom of the Opera

There’s a new slot on the horizon for Microgaming, and it will be based on Andrew Lloyd Weber’s popular MUSICAL film, Phantom of the Opera, which premiered back in 2004 and was inspired by the French novel, written by Gaston Leroux. If you’ve seen the film, or the actual opera, itself, you’ve probably already started singing the lyrics to the tale’s iconic song in your head… “The phantom of the Opera is there, inside your mind,” most likely with an added accent to boot.

Theme

The brand has inked a licensing deal with The Really Useful Group, and the slot is based on the feature film, which delivers acting performances from Gerard Butler as the phantom, Emmy Rossum as Christine, and Minnie Driver as Carlotta. Those looking forward to trying out this game can expect to find glimpses of said characters, along with, musical clips, and real footage from the motion picture!

Features

While we don’t yet know the official ins and outs of the game’s features, we do have a bit of insight as to what to expect, from the brand’s Games Publisher, David Reynolds: “The Phantom of the Opera has had unequivocal success, played to over 140 million people worldwide! It’s exciting to be working with a musical, a new genre of branded content for Microgaming, extending and broadening our portfolio of games. Due out in Q3, this game will be a true celebration of the world’s biggest opera, balancing a healthy mix of base game features with a feature-packed free spins round.”

There you have it; the game will be equipped with plenty of elements from the film, in an effort to celebrate its classic tale and years of popularity, merged with both base game and bonus round features, such as free spins!
