PearFiction is one of those gaming studios that are somehow always in the shadow of the bigger, major names dominating the industry, but who are staying true to their path of coming up with innovative and above all fun and zany titles. And they often turn to comic-esque visual solutions, which adds a dimension of carelessness of the feeling how the world used to be back when we were all a bit younger. This time, we're faced with a game of teenage punk movement, multiple special features and random surprises all lying in wait until the moment is ripe for them to strike and take the music world by the storm. So let's dig into this 25 paylines, 5 reel, 3 row tale of perseverance and annoyed neighbors.

Theme

Being a teenager with a penchant for listening and playing loud punk rock music can always write scripts, and thankfully we here have one such story – a story of a hopeful garage band of young misfits, the Biscuit brothers. The band and the game are called The Smashing Biscuit (we're not aware of any relation to The Smashing Pumpkins) and both are electrified with relentless enthusiasm any kid with an electric guitar and a set of drums would feel. They're on a mission to becoming the next big sensation and claim a record deal – much to the dismay of the mostly disinterested father who is there to lazily shuffle off in his morning robes and shut down the garage door. The theme and the graphical execution are top-notch and entertaining, with three kids (smallest and the feistiest one, Tiny, the drummer Crunchy and bass player Soggy – and judging by the name, the game creators hold not much merit for bass players) rocking away in the as the game begins with the backdrop of instruments and amps in a darkened garage. The scene changes once the extra spins mode is triggered – they take to the stage of the local battle of the bands (every town has one) with animated audience net being able to get enough of their brand of musical angst. Even the symbols change - low value symbols (vibrant guitars in the shape of card letters) and portraits of band members and their dad change into contracts, a debut record, a guitar pick, winner's trophy and a band merchandise T-shirt. Free spins scatter and a wild symbol substitute complete the symbol set. Lively colors and awesome cartoon-like visuals are complimented by the rocking soundtrack, a kind that a lively band in its infancy would indeed create.

The Band Goes Wild – During the extra spins mode, if you land the symbols that have only one of the band members (that is, if you match the same looking symbols), you will trigger this mode which will make that particular member literally go wild and churn out a kick-ass solo. This will transform those symbols into Wilds for the remainder of the extra spins mode.
