The Wizard of Oz is a 30 line video slot created by the infamous WMS software company. The 5 reels are set on a blue sky back drop, likely the calm before the storm.
Just as the digitally remastered film, the graphics are saturated with bright colorful symbols and scenes. The symbols are a mix of characters and memorable objects from the movie including Dorothy, Toto, The Wicked Witch of the West, State Fair hot air balloon, ruby slippers, the house, Tin Man, Scarecrow and Cowardly Lion, The Wizard of Oz, jackpot, and Emerald City Feature symbol. The sound effects and animations are straight from the film.
Betting options range from just 30 pence per spin up to £150 per spin. The denominations are offered from 1 penny up to £5 per line. Big wins spout emeralds from all directions. Big wins are determined by the line bet.
Auto Play is also available and players may choose the “Classic” or “Quickbet” panel. The Classic Panel shows the denomination per line where the Quickbet panel displays the stake per spin with a slider bar for quick wager changes.
Special Features
The Wizard of Oz is filled with bonus symbols. If you were wondering where Glinda the Good Witch of North was, she’s here too, just hiding. She floats down in her pink bubble, waves her magic wand and randomly awards up to 5 wild reels.
Whenever three Feature symbols appear on the reels, the player is prompted to choose one in the Oz Pick Feature. Your choice will reveal one of three prizes including the Winged Monkey Feature, Road to Emerald City Feature or a cash prize.
In the Winged Monkey Feature, the player is awarded 8 free spins which may also be retriggered. Whenever the Winged Monkey Wild appears during free spins, the winged monkeys are summoned to swoop in turning random symbols wild and offering a better opportunity for winning combinations. The graphics and audio are something to be seen in this feature.
The Road to Emerald City Feature transports the player to the Emerald Forest to begin picking emeralds. Each emerald selected reveals a cash prize or a trip to visit another character in attempt to take them along with you to emerald city. You may visit the Scarecrow Corn Field, Tin Man Apple Orchard, Cowardly Lion Dark Forest or the Wicked Witch Castle. You may end up with the character joining your quest or maybe a monetary prize instead. The player goes back to picking emeralds until Emerald City is revealed. If a character was awarded, then you are granted direct access to see the wizard, if not you must choose from 4 symbols in an attempt to get past the gate keeper. Once inside, a wheel will spin with 3 prizes per character in which you will win one cash prize each.
As always, players have the random possibility of winning the Progressive. This launches a separate screen after a regular spin so be ready.

This is probably my least favorite from the wizards of oz clones slots from WMS. The graphics are not so good as Ruby slippers. Also the payouts are usually low. Bit worse than the ruby slippers version of this game. Lower graphics and lower max win (1000x bet ) I play this game alot when im wagering bonus since it gives alot of medium to small wins but yet it has the potential to give out large wins from all of the features. Really enjoyable game

I actually couldn´t connect with this game. My winnings were a little poor and when I triggered bonus feature there wasn´t anything significant for me. Old look design is another aspect I didn´t like so much. Definitively this one won´t be my favorite WMS slot.

Thought I might write just a little more about this slot, as I don't even remember writing the above comment a few months ago - its definitely a perfectly valid point though! I have since been playing quite a bit of this game, despite its slight ripoff mechanics - it is available in my local betting shop on their machines...

I have since been playing quite a bit of this game, despite its slight ripoff mechanics - it is available in my local betting shop on their machines you see, and the Glinda wilds bonus can be really very generous when she awards 3 reels wild, which does seem to happen more on this game than, say, Thunderstruck2 or Immortal Romance. I do often get bugged out by the scatter feature though, as all too often I pick the cash prize rather than, my favourite, the winged monkey wilds feature - even the emerald city bonus would do! This is WMS all over though, yet their games continue to be immensely popular....?

It might be a classic but I can never forgive this slot for the ripoff with the wild symbol not substituting for the JACKPOT symbol.. what on earth is that all about? The highest paying symbol, you can land a full line of it with a wild and it pays ZERO ... say what?? ...

Anyway this slot has a variety of features, it has a Glinda Feature where the Glinda Witch Bubble Flies onto the screen and can turn up-to 5 reels wild - like I said above I had the first 4 reels wild once - and many times I had 3 reels. Then there is 2 other features in the normal feature mode - you need to get a green feature symbol on reel 1 reel 3 and reel 5 then you get to pick one of those symbols for a feature or a cash award. The 2 features available is The emerald city feature where you pick gem stones to try find the characters for the end of the feature to go and meet the wizard to win a bigger prize at the end - it is good if you can get all 4 characters :) i think i had all 4 once a long time ago. The second picked feature is the Wicked Witch free spin mode, where you get 8 free spins and if you get a wild symbol in the middle, you click it and bats fly in and can change a lot of reels wild too to make huge wins, this can pay very good sometimes. :) It is a very exciting slot to play i really do like playing this slot it is great fun :) There is also a jackpot symbol too in the normal mode that if you get 5 of a kind of those you get £100 for min bet of £0.30p I have had 4 of those a few times but i never ever had the 5 ever :( i hope you enjoy this classic from WMS but be warned about the dead spins when the slot is not paying, a tip is to just do about 10 - 20 spins and if you feel it isn't doing anything stop playing it, you can usually tell if it is paying this slot in about 20 spins of starting to play it, but not always sometimes im wrong :(
