You might assume that the fairy tale theme doesn’t offer anything new to the table...

While Rapunzel, Pinocchio, and Rumpelstiltskin didn’t make the cut, the symbols of the Jack and the Beanstalk, Cinderella and 3 Pigs are present in the gameplay.

The graphics is excellent, as well as the animation. This slot has a very nice visual appeal, which doesn’t change as you shift devices, since its completely mobile-friendly. You can enter this magical world with beautifully designed symbols and compelling story wherever you are via any Android or iOS portable devices.

Betting Options

In this remake, the old fashioned 5×3 grid is replaced by a 6 reel setup commonly seen in the slots that use the megaways engine. It is certainly un upgrade, since 117,649 ways to win when fully expanded provide much more winning options than the 20 betways from the original game.

The betting range gives players the opportunity to place their wagers from a minimum of $0.20 to a maximum of $100. When it comes to symbols, they weren't changed - the premiums are the same lyre, glass slipper, castle, and logo, while the lower paying symbols are the same old Royals.

Cascading reels are part of the gameplay, so winning symbols removed and replaced as combinations form. This setup is making the additional wins for that same spin quite possible.

On the other hand...

…this isn’t one of the highest RTP slots as megaways titles usually are. While the developer has increased the RTP from 92.46% to 95.50% in this remake, it still remains above the average value. As expected from a release with such big payouts, the game has medium to high volatility.

Wish Upon a Jackpot was one of the company’s releases that offered a lot of options when it comes to special features. In its megaways remake, Blueprint has gone back to the drawing board and had a complete revamp of this section. What remains is the bonus round triggered by the scatter and a random feature that can activate anytime in the base game.

Fairy Godmother Random Feature

Just like in fairy tales and the original release, Fairy Godmother comes with many magical treats. Once this symbol appears, she will bestow a selection of goodies, all based on famous stories we know and love. She can appear randomly on any spin.

When that happens, the players will be presented with 3 orbs, each of them special in its own way. Player has to choose one of the following orbs:

From time to time the Fairy Godmother wafts onto the screen and can award a Fairy Godmother Spin – 3 orbs shimmer over the reels and players choose one that is applied to the spin:

• Magic Beanstalk Stacked Wilds – While the reels are spinning, Jack waltzes past them, dropping beans. Not all of them will take root and grow, but the ones that do will fill the reel above them with a stacked beanstalk wild. There is a possibility that these stacked wilds will also have multipliers up to x7 attached to them.
• Pigs Can Fly - The three little pigs are a part of this game too. They can invade the gameplay and sprinkle wilds over the reels randomly.
• Golden Arrow Mystery Spin – This feature adds up to 100 mystery symbols to the reels. They have the ability to change to reveal the same symbol which can be any card except wilds or scatters.

Fairy Godmother Extra Spins

3 or more bonus symbols landing on the reels will trigger this feature and award 10 extra spins. Once again, the player has a choice between three orbs and their modifiers explained in the section above.

…the chosen modifier will have a far higher chance of triggering compared to the base game. Also, this round includes an unlimited win multiplier – it increases by +1 following every cascade, and it doesn’t reset after each spin. If you’re lucky, the round can be extended for a long time since any bonus symbol that lands add 1 extra spin.

Our Take

Wish Upon a Jackpot Megaways slot is a nice revamp of the original game. With a top potential prize of x50,000 and a megaways engine, it certainly offers more winning possibilities. Fans of the origin title who thinks the shakeup has been too vigorous, especially regarding special features, shouldn’t be quick to judge before checking out the revamped version. The gameplay is very engaging, so this release should be on the player’s “must try” list.
