Back 1spin4win Report: Slots Lead Africa & LATAM

A joint study by 1spin4win and Blask examining online casino trends across Africa and Latin America highlights the strong position of slot games while also pointing to a gap between what operators promote and what players actively seek. The research combines data insights with operator perspectives to assess how game performance varies across major markets.

Data Study Maps Player Demand and Game Visibility

The analysis covers countries including South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina. By comparing lobby placement data with player search behavior, the study outlines how content is presented and how users interact with it.

The research identifies a consistent trend across both regions, with slot games holding the largest share of top-performing titles. In Africa, slots account for 71% of the Top 30 games featured in casino lobbies. In Latin America, they represent 67% of the Top 30 titles analyzed, placing them ahead of crash and live games.

Mismatch Between Featured Games and Player Searches

Despite the dominance of slots, the study shows that visibility does not guarantee popularity. Data indicates that players frequently search for games that are not prominently displayed in casino lobbies. In some cases, highly searched titles are missing from featured sections.

This disconnect suggests that operator decisions on game placement may not fully reflect real-time user preferences. The findings point to an opportunity for operators to better align content with demand by using more detailed behavioral data.

Expansion Strategy Driven by Market Insights

The findings form part of a broader effort by 1spin4win to expand its footprint across Africa and Latin America. Since 2025, the company has increased its presence in these regions, focusing on partnerships with local aggregators and refining its offerings to match regional expectations.

Adjustments to product design include improved mobile compatibility, faster loading times, and stable gameplay in areas with weaker internet connectivity. These changes have already shown measurable impact, particularly in Africa, where the number of bets has increased by 9.2 times.

“At 1spin4win, we place strong emphasis on working with data. It’s at the core of how we approach product development. We focus on understanding player preferences and making informed decisions that help us deliver experiences that truly resonate with our audience.” said Olga Hlukhovskaya, Business Development Director at 1spin4win.

“By aggregating non-branded search data at scale, we help teams understand what players are actually looking for in each market — often before those trends become visible inside the product. This allows operators to move from reactive content strategies to proactive ones, aligning supply with real-time demand and capturing value that would otherwise be missed.” said Ilya Batcherikov, Blask CPO.

The study’s results underline how data-driven strategies continue to shape decision-making in online gaming, particularly in regions experiencing rapid growth.
