… with specialists’ help

A private website which is engaged in gambling affiliate protection, Affiliate Guard Dog, recently experienced a hack of unknown origin, which was removed with some specialist help. Namely, they called in an expert in the domain Dave Sawyer, to help find the malware which was introduced on the 22nd October with the payload being initiated on the 24th October. The malware aimed at redirecting visitors to other websites with Trojans.

Sucuri.net was then engaged to conduct a thorough scan of the website, remove the leaks and prevent the hacker from attacking again. They also plan to find and expose the culprits so the contributions from any webmaster who has some hacking issues will be considered.

According to Sawyer: “he can confirm from analysing the ftp logs and other backend logs, that no actual breach as such of the site occurred. The malware was inserted via an injection, exploiting some code on the site… The site is and will continue to remain secure. Any member of AGD who is au fait with web logs and would like to cast their eyes over the logs, is welcome to see if they can help identify the point of attack."
