Court remains undecided
A new development occurred this week in a perplexing case of the State of Kentucky’s attempt to seize international domains belonging to online gambling companies – the court decided to go with another 30-day delay, as it remains undecided about the question of legal standing.
This case has been going on for two years, seeing a clash between the Interactive Media Entertainment and Gaming Association (IMEGA), and lawyers representing the State. The opponents’ major dispute, debated in a number of the state’s courts, was whether IMEGA has standing (i.e. can claim to be representative of domain owners) in the proceedings.
