Past offenders keep eluding the law

Illegal online gambling activities have become a serious issue in Malaysia's third largest state Pahang. According to Pahang CID Chief SAC T. Narenasagaran police seized 2644 computer units worth RM 2219308, converted and used from January to June 2012 for gambling activities at 213 premises in all Malaysian districts.

Narenasagaran said that illegal online gambling is on the rise with new operators but in old previously raided premises continuing prohibited operations.

"Ops Dadu", the anti-online gambling Police operation codename, will certainly increase surveillance, conduct regular raids, cut off power supplies to premises, terminate internet connections, and recall business licences, it was revealed.
