The latest news from Iceland may be bad news for gambling companies, as they report that the biggest internet service providers in the country, Vodafone and Siminn are considering blocking x-rated material, gambling and other questionable internet content.
It has also been reported that even if the restrictions come into effect, customers would still have access to censored websites, but upon personal request.
According to Hrannar Pétursson, a spokesperson for Vodafone, " the block, if enforced, would not be censorship, but rather a way to protect customers from viruses and malware that frequently run rampant on porn and gambling sites."
