Thanks to its partnership with Rank Group’s Casino van Blankenberge, online gambling group Unibet became one of only six companies that obtained licensing from the Belgian Gaming Commission to operate online poker and casino.
What Rank helped Unibet achieve is to meet local regulatory requirements for association with a Belgian-licensed physical gambling enterprise in order to secure a A+ licence. Thanks to this, it now joins the company of designated Belgian websites of major companies: GoldenPalace, Partouche, Poker770, PokerStars and Win2day.
In related news, five new websites made it to the Belgium’s black list of online gambling companies accessing the Belgian market, bringing the total number on the list to over 50.
Therefore, from now on, domestic ISPs are required to block the following .com sites: SpinPalace casino, Bwin's Gamebookers, GamingClub, SupremePlay, and Agrandtopeudice.
So far, a number of companies initiated legal actions, opposing the Belgians bans, including Bwin, Party Poker, Betfair, Telebet and Betclic Everest.
