This week the German Association of Telecommunications and Media (DVTM) intends to submit a plan for gambling regulation to lawmakers after the unsuccessful German licensing process.
“Our proposal creates a win-win situation for the government, consumers, and policy provider,” Zille Renatus, chief executive officer of DVTM said.
DVTM has partnered with the Scientific Institute for Infrastructure and Communication Services (WIK) to present with “an exclusive study that includes the necessary re-regulation of the so-called ‘Better-tainment’ market’, focusing in particular on sports betting, poker, casino and online lotteries”.
“The exodus of investment and sales abroad and the resulting loss of tax revenue in the Billions can thus be avoided by creating legal certainty for the industry and consumers,” DVTM said.
“Only a liberalized, regulated market can protect the youth, data and consumer, expand addiction-fighting measures and keep the real ‘black sheep’ out of the industry”.
The study has the support of EU Commissioner Günther H. Oettinger and will be presented at the Munich Media Days on October 21st.

I hope something good comes out of this and yes seem Germany failed in licensing. I have friend works with affiliate marketing within gambling. And for him was big loss as some casinos stopped taking German Players and also new signups. At least Vera&John opened up again. But quite shocking great big brand like Guts they...

And also crazy with 15% tax compared to only 10% in UK. But yet still a shame that affiliates has to be punished in all this end of day only one who should pay those 10% is the casinos.

That would certainly be interesting if it really is a WIN-WIN situation for every player and participant, you shouldn't make all the regulations so difficult because I think everyone should want to use their freedom.
Das wäre doch sicherlich interessanz wenn es denn auch tatsächlich eine WIn-WIn situation für jeden spieler und Beteiligten ist,man sollte die ganzen regelungen nicht so schwer machen denn ich finde jeder sollte seine freiheit nutzen wollen.

I think many vices have and will always exist in any given society. Drinking and other forms of reacreational drug use like marijuana, prositution and gambling, will go on regardless of government approval or censure. I think many vices have and will always exist in any given society. Drinking and other forms of reacreational drug use like marijuana, prositution and gambling, will go on regardless of government approval or censure. Therefore, government regulation of such human proclivities is an advantage for those who are involved; both on the consumption and service provider sides of these things; but also of the wider society as a whole which benefits through revenues raised and regulations which limit the harm that can occur when involvement in such vices goes beyond a recreational level and becomes pathological addiction. Not to mention the rights employees in these legal and regulated businesses receive as taxpaying, working citizens.

At the end of the day it is all about the tax revenue because at the moment they get good money from gambling and it would probably stay this way. I don't see a win-win-situation but it is interesting to know some more facts. The online lotteries are not the problem for sure. I remember the first time I saw that I am paying...
