Back Bede Gaming Gains Alberta iGaming Approval

Bede Gaming has received regulatory clearance to enter Alberta’s forthcoming online gambling market, following a decision by the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC). The approval allows the company to operate under a conditional one-year iGaming Goods or Services Supplier licence once the province launches its regulated framework later in 2026.

The decision places Bede among the early group of international platform providers authorised to supply services in Alberta. With the market preparing to open, the company is now positioned to work with operators planning to establish a presence in the province.

Early Approval Ahead Of Regulated Rollout

AGLC’s determination marks a key step for Bede Gaming as Alberta moves toward a formalised iGaming environment. The province has already begun accepting registrations as of January 2026, signalling progress toward a fully operational market later in the year.

By securing approval at this stage, Bede gains the ability to prepare its services for launch alongside operators entering the jurisdiction. The company’s readiness aligns with expectations that Alberta could develop into a significant regulated market over time, with projections suggesting growth similar to Ontario’s established iGaming sector.

This anticipated expansion has drawn attention from international companies seeking to broaden their geographic reach. Bede’s inclusion among the first approved suppliers highlights its focus on participating in regulated environments at an early stage.

Platform Capabilities And Partner Support

Bede Gaming’s offering includes a combination of proprietary tools and integrations designed to support online gambling operators. The platform provider holds SOC 2 certification, which reflects its compliance with established security and operational standards.

Its system incorporates more than 150 third-party integrations alongside in-house products, enabling operators to build and expand their services using a flexible framework. The platform is designed to support scaling efforts while maintaining operational efficiency, particularly for companies entering newly regulated markets.

Beyond its core platform, Bede also provides additional services such as front-end development, native applications and reporting tools. Its technology supports a range of verticals, including lottery, casino, sports betting and bingo, giving partners the ability to manage multiple offerings within a single system.

The company’s infrastructure processes large transaction volumes each year and is built with modular architecture and open API functionality. This structure allows operators to customise their setup or integrate external solutions as needed, including links to land-based systems for combined retail and digital operations.

Company Perspective On Alberta Opportunity

Colin Cole-Johnson, Chief Executive Officer at Bede Gaming, said: “Bede is delighted to receive conditional regulatory approval to work in Alberta, putting us in a great position to support operators with their upcoming expansions in the province.”

The company views Alberta as an important addition to Canada’s regulated gambling landscape, with its early approval expected to support partnerships as the market prepares to go live. Bede’s existing experience in the sector and its technology offering place it in a position to assist operators aiming for a timely entry into the province.
