BetBlocker Responsible Gambling App Approved as a Charity in the United Kingdom

ThePOGG.com-funded responsible gambling app, BetBlocker, was approved as a charity in the United Kingdom.

The app, also developed by the said dispute mediation service, makes it possible for users to self-exclude themselves from gambling activity. It does that by blocking access to over 6,700 betting websites. The block from any of these sites cannot be reversed and they will only become available once the exclusion period ends.

More Popular Than Expected

Licensed, as well as unlicensed brands, are covered by BetBlocker…

…and users are able to restrict themselves from illegal gambling services that are not under the jurisdiction of United Kingdom Gambling Commission.

Also, consumers themselves will be able to make a donation to BetBlocker even though the app itself will remain free of charge.

Adds Garvie: “We will accept donations form players where they choose to give, but the best action players can take to help the BetBlocker project is to contribute to us via the Amazon Smile program.”

He went on to say that there are numerous charitable and business organizations that think it a priority to provide assistance to vulnerable groups experiencing symptoms of gambling addiction.

He said he has no doubt that cooperation with these groups will ensure that BetBlocker keeps growing and developing.
