Betfair and FC Barcelona, successful professional football club, have just teamed up with one another, allowing the two to collaborate on a number of matters. Through the recent agreement, Betfair earns the right to have its brand represented at all events held at Nou Camp, the club's home ground.
The internet betting exchange has also earned the right to develop marketing campaigns, along with promotional material, inspired by first team players. Collaboration on image association rights, plus digital benefits was also a condition of the agreement.
According to Manel Arroyo, FC Barcelona's Vice President of Marketing and Communication, “FC Barcelona is delighted to sign a long-term collaboration agreement with Betfair, a leading company in terms of seriousness in the field of sports betting. We hope our members and all football lovers will enjoy this new global partnership, as well as exclusive promotions and unique sporting experiences.”
Additionally, UK and Ireland Marketing Director for Betfair, Paul Gambrill, commented, “We are delighted to have signed a long-term partnership with Barcelona Football Club. Barcelona are year-on-year competitive at the top level and will help us achieve our ambition of growing the Betfair brand internationally.”
Gambrill concluded, "We very much look forward to working with the club to offer the incredible fans unique promotions, content and experiences."
Each of the two entities have amassed quite the reputation, while FC Barcelona is considered the second richest club in the world, and Betfair has obtained a handful of partnerships with UK Premier football clubs. Its partnerships include Southampton, Sunderland, Asenal, and Aston Villa.
