Yggdrasil has officially welcomed Black Cat Games to its YGG Masters program, enhancing its mission to deliver fresh, distinctive slot content to a global audience. This latest addition to the initiative reflects Yggdrasil's commitment to supporting emerging game studios that bring a unique creative approach to the iGaming space.
Based in the UK, Black Cat Games was launched in October 2023 by Doug Charnley and Adam Quickfall. Despite being a relatively new entrant, the studio has made a strong impression and now looks to scale up by partnering with Yggdrasil. Through the YGG Masters program, the studio will use Yggdrasil’s powerful Phoenix platform to build and distribute a new slate of immersive slot titles. The collaboration is expected to result in emotionally engaging games that reflect both Yggdrasil’s innovation and Black Cat’s creative drive.
Zoe Bird, Yggdrasil’s Head of Masters, expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership, stating:
“We are delighted to welcome Black Cat Games into the YGG Masters program. Their commitment to crafting visually stunning and engaging slot games aligns perfectly with our vision. We look forward to collaborating with them to bring exciting new content to our operator partners and players.”
Doug Charnley, Co-Founder of Black Cat Games, echoed that sentiment:
“Joining the YGG Masters program is a significant milestone for Black Cat Games. Yggdrasil's technology and extensive network provide us with an excellent platform to showcase our innovative slot games to a broader audience. We are excited about the opportunities this partnership presents and are eager to deliver exceptional gaming experiences together.”
This new collaboration follows Yggdrasil’s ongoing efforts to spotlight creative talent in the industry while expanding its content offering through strategic alliances.
7×7 Thor Adds Thunder to Yggdrasil’s Expanding Game Universe
The announcement comes shortly after the launch of 7×7 Thor, a dynamic new title by 4ThePlayer, which debuted under the YGG Masters umbrella on March 27, 2025. As a follow-up to 7×7 Zeus, this new installment brings players into the heart of Norse mythology, starring the thunder god himself in a pays-anywhere slot format.
The game opens on a 5×5 grid but expands to a 7×7 layout whenever a lightning symbol appears, increasing win potential as players chase combinations of seven or more matching symbols. The tumbling win mechanic is supercharged when Thor raises Mjölnir, triggering a multiplier that doubles with each successive win during a spin. In the bonus round, three scatter symbols ensure the multiplier doesn’t reset between spins, allowing for even greater payouts.
The title offers players three Buy Feature options—free spins, a guaranteed multiplier, or a guaranteed multiplier of at least 10x—catering to various play styles.
Zoe Bird praised the release, commenting:
“7×7 Thor combines the incredibly popular pays-anywhere style of play with 4ThePlayer’s unmistakable game design, to create a game of thunderous proportions. It’s exciting to continue to facilitate an array of styles, gameplay, and themes, and this is another great addition to the YGG Masters offering.”
Henry McLean, Co-Founder of 4ThePlayer, added:
“We saw how much players loved the electrifying entertainment in 7×7 Zeus, so we’re thrilled to launch its exciting sequel, 7×7 Thor. This game elevates the adventure further with a new side bet to boost bonus chances, plus a powerful new Buy Feature offering a guaranteed minimum multiplier, perfect for players who like to fast-forward to the action. We can’t wait for players to experience it and truly feel the power of Thor!”
7×7 Thor was built using Yggdrasil’s GATI technology, a preconfigured, regulation-ready development framework that ensures fast and efficient content creation and distribution.
