Online casino game availability varies considerably across Europe, with only two titles appearing among the top 30 by brand coverage in each of six markets examined: the UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, France and the Netherlands.
Data extracted by Blask on 24 August 2026 shows that Play’n GO’s Book of Dead and Legacy of Dead achieved the broadest presence. Brand coverage measures the percentage of tracked operators offering a particular title, rather than player demand or game popularity.
The comparison covered 236 brands in the UK, 79 in Italy, 249 in Germany, 83 in Spain, 75 in France and 82 in the Netherlands. Blask also distinguishes between locally licensed and international brands in regulated markets.
Play’n GO Titles Maintain Broad Coverage
Book of Dead ranked first in the Netherlands with 49% coverage and reached the top 30 elsewhere, including 46% in the UK, 37% in Italy, 31% in Germany, 47% in Spain and 23% in France.
Legacy of Dead also appeared across all six markets. Its coverage ranged from 19% in France to 40% in the Netherlands, with 39% in the UK, 32% in Italy, 29% in Germany and 39% in Spain.
Andrew Pink, head of brand and communication at Play’n GO, linked the continued reach of the two titles to their established position with players and operators.
“Book of Dead and Legacy of Dead have earned their place through a combination of strong player recognition, proven long-term performance, and the trust we’ve built with operators over many years. While trends come and go, operators continue to value content with a demonstrated ability to engage players sustainably across regulated markets.”
Pink also highlighted the importance of interpreting coverage figures within each country's regulatory structure.
“When comparing coverage figures across European markets, it’s important to understand exactly what is being measured.[...] Play’n GO derives no revenue from France as France has no regulated iGaming Market.”
Big Bass Splash Leads Three Countries
Reel Kingdom’s Big Bass Splash topped the UK, Germany and Spain rankings. Its coverage reached 58.1% in the UK, 49.0% in Germany and 73.5% in Spain, the highest figure recorded for a country's leading title.
Its position changed elsewhere. The game ranked seventh in the Netherlands and 10th in Italy, while it failed to enter France’s top 30.
Italy’s leading title was Pragmatic Play’s Gates of Olympus Super Scatter at 53.2%. France followed a different pattern, with Evolution’s Lightning Roulette leading at 34.7%.
France Differs From The Wider Market
Slots occupied 148 of the 180 ranked positions across the six countries. Germany had 29 slot titles in its top 30, followed by 28 in the Netherlands, 27 in Italy, 26 in the UK and 25 in Spain.
France had only 13 slots among its top 30. Live games, roulette and crash titles accounted for much more of its ranking, including Lightning Roulette, Aviator and Baccarat near the top.
Pragmatic Play appeared 60 times across the six rankings, representing one-third of all entries. Play’n GO appeared 16 times and reached every country.

I think Germany simply isn't representative, since so few providers are offered in regulated casinos here. I think that significantly distorts the market. And isn't France also strictly regulated by the state? (By the way, it's a mystery to me why so many people still play Book of Dead.)

It's so interesting that a game as simple as Big Bass (and its million versions) is so popular still. It has medium payouts on average, and simple cash collection mechanic. I'm also surprised that Play'n Go is in the lead - but my assumption would be that it is derived from their legacy titles, not newer releases, as their...

I'm also surprised that Play'n Go is in the lead - but my assumption would be that it is derived from their legacy titles, not newer releases, as their newer titles have been quite lacklustre in my opinion.

I find the France difference pretty interesting. It shows that there really isn’t one “European player preference” — regulation and local habits clearly shape what succeeds. I’d also say the fact that older games like Book of Dead are still everywhere is a good sign that proven titles can have much more staying power than...

The strong coverage of Play’n GO titles is notable, while France really stands out from the wider trend.

Spain’s 73.5% coverage for Big Bass Splash really stands out. The same game dropping outside France’s top 30 shows how differently casino portfolios can look from one market to another.
