Back Evolution Gaming and DraftKings Sign Partnership

Leading developers of live casino solutions with offices all around the world, Evolution Gaming, have expanded their reach within the United States by signing a partnership with providers of daily fantasy sports contests, DraftKings.

The agreement will see all live casino services provided to the operator’s live studio in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Now offering DFS competitions across eleven professional sports in eight countries, including Australia, Canada and UK, DraftKings is also among the first companies to have launched within NJ’s regulated market in August 2018.

Online and mobile sports betting in the state allows its residents to engage in wagering on major leagues, including international sports. Chief business officer for America & Land-based at Evolution, James Stern, comments about the deal:

“DraftKings is a young and dynamic company that has blazed a trail in recent years with its best-in-class technology and extensive knowledge of sports. DraftKings was first to market in New Jersey with online sports betting, just a couple of months after filing for its licence with the New Jersey regulators. We very much look forward to working with DraftKings on this project.”

EG Flawless At EGR Nordic Awards 2019

Recently, the supplier was awarded, ‘Casino Content Supplier of the Year’ for the second year at EGR Nordics Awards, held at the Corinthia Hotel, St. George’s Bay, Malta. The accolade has confirmed EG’s success in the Nordic region, opening many doors to other markets and gaming verticals, specifically in the United States.

Sebastian Johannisson, chief commercial officer at Evolution commented about the ceremony:

“We are so very proud to receive this award. It has already been an outstanding start to the year, where we have seen the re-regulation of the Swedish market and launched some top-class environments from day one for our operators.

It is a huge honour for us to receive this award for the second year in a row. We pride ourselves on offering the very best localised Live Casino services, offering bespoke, tailor-made solutions to meet the exact needs of our operators in both this market and globally.”

Troubles With Law

One month earlier, the aggregator reached a deal with LotoQuebec, allowing it to stream live casino games from a Canadian studio. Unibet has also selected Evolution Gaming as its lead provider to move into the US market, since both brands have a strong footprint in Europe as well.

In the meantime, after setting up a sportsbook in West Virginia, DraftKings received a lawsuit from a contestant in New York for violating the state’s Consumer Fraud Act and staying true to its betting rules.

The problem arose during the Sports Betting National Championship, when the operator offered a top prize of $1 million and a total purse of $2.5 million...

...due to a glitch in the system, one of the leading competitors, certain Rufus Peabody, was unable to place his bets on the final NFL playoff game and missed a chance of winning the top prize.

Nevertheless, the operator’s sportsbooks across the USA continue to work undisturbed, like the one in Mississippi that launched in November 2018.
