Formula 1 has entered a multi-year agreement naming Betway as the championship’s first official betting operator. The deal introduces a formal betting partnership into the sport’s commercial program and links race data with sportsbook markets tied to Formula 1 events.
Betway operates under Super Group (SGHC) Limited, which also owns the Spin online casino platform. The arrangement expands the sportsbook brand’s presence in global sport and integrates Formula 1 data into wagering products.
The partnership arrives shortly before the season opener in Australia and builds on existing collaborations related to the sport’s betting data infrastructure.
Race Data Integrated Into Sportsbook Markets
The agreement uses services developed with ALT Sports Data, the official betting data supplier for Formula 1. Through the partnership, race information will feed predictive analytics and wagering products connected to Formula 1 events.
Formula 1 generates extensive operational data through timing systems, telemetry, and monitoring across teams and circuits. The partnership introduces the use of this information in betting markets linked to race developments.
Within the Betway sportsbook platform, official data feeds will support in-play wagering markets tied to strategy and on-track events. Examples include safety car deployments, pit strategy windows, and position battles between drivers and teams.
The collaboration also includes the development of proprietary data products and priced odds solutions based on Formula 1 race activity. These analytics tools will support the structure and management of sportsbook markets.
First Official Betting Operator For The Series
The appointment marks the first time Formula 1 has named a dedicated betting operator within its commercial structure. The agreement reflects a broader trend in sports wagering where leagues increasingly integrate official data into regulated betting products.
Betway already maintains a presence in the sport through a branding partnership with Atlassian Williams Racing that began during the previous season.
Super Group CEO Neal Menashe said the agreement strengthens the company’s involvement in major sporting events.
“We are thrilled to sign our Betway sportsbook brand to the first deal of its kind in Formula 1,” Menashe said.
“This partnership reinforces our commitment to sport at the highest level and will ensure our customers have access to some of the most innovative markets during race weekends. It promises to be a competitive season with fantastic races across the globe . We look forward to being a part of it.”
Jonny Haworth, Formula 1’s director of commercial partnerships, said betting activity has become a common part of the fan experience.
“Sports betting is now a natural extension of how many modern fans engage with live events,” Haworth said.
“As a series with vast and complex data sets, our innovative partnership with Betway allows our adult fans to take a step closer to the strategy and action that makes it so thrilling.”
“While betting and sport have long gone hand in hand, this new product offering based on real-time and regulated data takes Formula 1 into a new cutting-edge dimension that offers event more engagement and excitement for fans.”
The agreement comes ahead of the 2026 Formula 1 season, which will introduce updated technical regulations affecting car design and performance.

Formula 1’s partnership with Betway shows how modern sports are increasingly blending live data, technology, and fan engagement through betting. While the integration of real-time race analytics could create more interactive experiences for fans, it also raises questions about how closely gambling should be tied to global sporting events. It will be interesting to see whether this move enhances viewer engagement or sparks broader debate about the growing role of betting in professional sports.
