Games Global and Slingshot Studios have introduced Candy Combo 2 Power Combo, a follow-up to the original Candy Combo Power Combo released in August 2024. The new slot expands on the earlier game’s Link&Win format with additional modifiers, new gameplay mechanics, and a larger feature structure.
The sequel takes place in a candy-themed setting and uses a 5x3 reel layout with 20 paylines. According to the companies, the title supports up to 31 possible bonus combinations through a system of collectible jar characters and stacked gameplay modifiers.
Candy Combo 2 Power Combo builds around a 5x4 Link&Win bonus grid where cash symbols remain locked in position as additional symbols land during respins.
Expanded Bonus Features Added
The game retains several mechanics from the original release while introducing two new additions designed to increase feature interaction.
Connector symbols return with the ability to apply multipliers of up to 10x to completed rows during the bonus round. Collector symbols gather visible cash values across the board, while Jackpot symbols award fixed prizes once four matching jackpot symbols appear.
The sequel adds Adder symbols, which increase the values of landed symbols, and Extender symbols, which unlock a second independent reel set during the Link&Win sequence.
Up to five gameplay modifiers can activate simultaneously within the same bonus round. The game also includes a Super Power Combo feature that enables all mechanics at once.
Additional features include Hot Mode, which places extra feature symbols on the reels to increase the chance of triggering bonuses, and Upsizer, which allows players to pay in advance to upgrade the Link&Win feature before activation.
The original Candy Combo Power Combo centered around three combinable feature types. The sequel increases both the number of jar characters and the interaction between mechanics during gameplay.
Studios Build on Existing Slot Formula
Slingshot Studios said the release was designed to expand on a successful framework established by the earlier title.
“Candy Combo 2 Power Combo builds on its predecessor – one of our most successful titles – by expanding how features interact within the Link&Win format,” said Richard Vermaak, Creative Director at Slingshot Studios. “The addition of new jars and the ability to combine multiple mechanics introduces more variation across each round, while staying true to the core gameplay players recognise.”
The new version includes five collectible candy jar characters positioned above the reels, compared with three in the original release. Each jar collects matching symbols and activates its own Link&Win modifier once triggered.
Sequel Continues Feature-Stacking Direction
Games Global said the release reflects the continued popularity of feature-stacking mechanics across online slot development.
“Slingshot Studios has done brilliantly at evolving a well-established concept by adding depth and flexibility to its feature set,” said David Reynolds, Director of Games Strategy and Partner Management at Games Global.
The companies described Candy Combo 2 Power Combo as an expanded version of the original formula, with a larger bonus structure and broader combinations tied to the Link&Win system.
