Back Industry Leaders Examine iGaming Marketing Claims

SOFTSWISS has brought together two senior figures from the iGaming sector for an open discussion examining some of the industry’s most debated marketing assumptions. The company organised a recorded debate featuring Valentina Bagniya, Chief Marketing Officer at SOFTSWISS, and Robin Harrison, Global Content Director at Clarion Gaming. The conversation focused on brand development, strategic thinking, and the value of content in a crowded market.

The discussion followed a structured format where participants responded to bold industry statements without prior preparation. This approach encouraged immediate reactions and practical viewpoints rather than rehearsed commentary. Topics ranged from how creativity influences commercial outcomes to what types of data and insight senior executives actually rely on when making decisions. The speakers also addressed how industry reports fit into modern marketing plans.

Bagniya brings extensive experience to the conversation, having built a reputation as a marketing leader within iGaming. In 2025, she received the Marketer of the Year title at the EGR Marketing & Innovation Awards. That year also saw her team recognised as Marketing Team of the Year, while one of its campaigns earned the Best Marketing Campaign award. Her perspective in the debate drew on both strategic oversight and hands-on execution.

Content, Creativity, and Decision-Making

Harrison contributed a content-focused viewpoint shaped by his work across several industries. At Clarion Gaming, he oversees global content strategy and plays a key role in industry media initiatives. He is also the co-creator and producer of the World Series of Politics podcast, iGB’s longest-running audio programme, and co-hosts the Right the Source podcast with Ed Birkin of H2 Gambling Capital.

Reflecting on the format and intent of the discussion, Bagniya said: “This podcast is a chance to have the kind of conversation the industry often misses – honest, unscripted, and practical. We didn’t know the topics in advance, so the discussion stayed real, spontaneous, and genuinely engaging.”

The exchange aimed to question widely accepted claims rather than reinforce them. By responding in real time, both speakers tested ideas that frequently circulate in marketing discussions, particularly around how brands position themselves and how content supports long-term objectives.

Examining Industry Claims Through Debate

Harrison highlighted the value of challenging established narratives within the sector. He explained his motivation for taking part in the conversation and the need for critical thinking when assessing marketing trends.

“I enjoyed this podcast because we don’t just repeat popular opinions, we test them. In iGaming, there’re a lot of people making grand statements, but it’s important to cut through the noise and the rhetoric. We talked through the big claims around brand, content, and strategy, and I hope listeners will leave with a clearer view of these disciplines in gaming, not to mention ideas they can actually use,” said Robin Harrison.

The podcast appears on the SOFTSWISS PRODUCTS channel and targets professionals looking to better understand marketing challenges expected in 2026. Alongside the podcast, SOFTSWISS recently released its 2026 iGaming Trends Report, outlining both micro- and macro-level developments expected to shape the sector. Bagniya also addressed key questions around strategic planning for the year ahead, focusing on how operators can align insight with execution.
