Back JOI Gaming and Trustly Launch Instant Payments in the Netherlands

JOI Gaming has announced a new strategic partnership with Trustly, selecting the open banking pioneer as its primary payment provider for the Dutch market. The collaboration aims to deliver rapid transactions, enhanced safety, and round-the-clock accessibility, reflecting a growing demand among players for seamless and instant financial operations.

As a subsidiary of JVH Gaming & Entertainment Group, JOI Gaming is reinforcing its player-first philosophy through this integration. By tapping into Trustly’s open banking infrastructure and access to Dutch instant payment systems, players will now be able to withdraw their winnings any time, with funds transferred directly to their bank accounts in real time.

This instant access responds to a key expectation among today’s online gaming users—payout speed. Industry research confirms that quick and reliable payment options are becoming a decisive factor in player satisfaction and retention. The partnership, therefore, not only modernises JOI Gaming’s payment framework but also sharpens its competitive edge in the evolving Dutch iGaming landscape.

Boosting Security and Regulatory Compliance

Beyond transaction speed, the integration significantly strengthens the security and regulatory framework for JOI Gaming’s operations. Trustly’s payment technology supports encrypted, bank-to-bank transfers that reduce exposure to fraud while also aligning with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance standards.

This dual focus on user convenience and strict regulatory adherence highlights a growing trend in online gaming—combining tech-driven efficiency with robust oversight.

Leadership Perspectives on the Partnership

Eric Olders, CEO & Chairman of JVH Gaming & Entertainment Group and Founder of JOI Gaming, commented on the development, saying: "At JOI Gaming, we put players at the heart of our decisions. Partnering with Trustly means we can deliver the fast, secure and seamless payment experience our customers value, 24/7."

From Trustly’s side, Vasilije Lekovic, VP of Gaming, added: "The partnership with JOI Gaming strengthens our position as a leading payment provider for online gambling in the Netherlands. With instant payments, and open banking data in one package, we're confident we'll add value for JOI Gaming and its players."

Trustly Expands Footprint in Europe with Swish Deal

The JOI Gaming collaboration comes shortly after Trustly’s recent announcement regarding its expanded role in Sweden’s Swish payment system. As of 10 September 2025, Trustly has become a direct participant in Swish—Sweden’s dominant mobile payment method with 8.7 million users. The move aligns with the EU’s Instant Payment Regulation and enables payment institutions like Trustly to connect directly with national systems previously reserved for banks.

This development promises faster onboarding, reduced settlement times, and simplified reconciliation for merchants using Swish, broadening Trustly’s value proposition across Europe.

“This partnership with Swish is an important step for Trustly. It allows us to improve our product offering and make life easier for our merchants and partners,” said Johan Tjärnberg, Group CEO at Trustly.

A Leader in Direct Payments and Open Banking

Operating across 33 countries, Trustly is widely recognised as a global force in Pay by Bank solutions. The company works with more than 12,000 financial institutions, enabling safe, direct transactions from bank accounts without the need for cards or third-party apps. Its clients range from tech leaders like Lenovo to communications giants such as Virgin Media O2.
