Following up on the news that the appeals from Co-Gaming, Mansion Casino, and ONISAC have been rejected by the Dutch Council of State, Mansion has decided to close its Dutch accounts on October 3, with players to receive e-mails announcing that their accounts will be available only for fund withdrawal. Pending funds are to be withdrawn by October 10th.
Mansion is the owner of Mansion Casino- and Casino.com brands. Jointly with ONISAC, it was fined with €150,000 in 2014. The contemporary injunction originally granted them was withdrawn in late September.
More Fined
Mansion is by no means the only gambling company operating in the Netherlands, and also not the only one to have been fined. The Kansspelautoriteit regulatory body (KSA) also fined Co-Gaming with €180,000 for operating a gambling website and displaying Dutch flags on it. Betsson’s Corona and MRG’s Mr Green Ltd subsidiaries are now facing charges on the same grounds. The first was charged with a €300,000 fine and the latter – with €312,500.
The Netherlands has been undertaking steps to re-regulate its gambling market for a while now, aiming to create a regulated environment that would allow international operators to apply for a license. However, the Netherlands’ Minister for Justice and Security Sander Dekker mentioned that KSA-fined operators should have to serve a “time out” before being allowed to re-apply for a license. Even before that, Dutch government had asked the KSA to introduce a special clause that would ban (temporarily or permanently) the operators who have been fined.
To this day, the Dutch online gambling market remains one of Europe’s most lucrative ones. Notwithstanding the missing regulations, many of the world’s largest online gambling brands have been operating there for years.

The Netherlands is a small country but the economy is one of the best, when it comes to money, they are not to be fooled. If you live here, you'll overloaded with paperwork. Online gambling is nowadays very popular among the new/younger generation so they prefer to stay home and play in the comfort zone of home. Land based casinos can't make profit of this and that's why some of them had to close their doors. This is probably the reason why many online casinos are restricted for The Netherlands, there are more than a couple dozens casino closed their doors for players from The Netherlands and that's really saddend and its now Mansion casino's turn to say no to us.

Interesting developments. Would like to see how “time out” plays out.
