Back Manta Mayhem Brings Chaotic Ocean Heist Story

A guarded treasure cove beneath the ocean surface becomes the stage for Play’n GO’s latest release, Manta Mayhem, a story-driven game built around a clash between a territorial sea guardian and a poorly prepared group of would-be thieves.

At the center of the setting is a secluded underwater stash filled with magical clams and unusual shiny objects. The area is controlled by a possessive Manta Ray who carefully maintains his collection and keeps strict control over the space. The character treats the cove like a private museum and shows no intention of sharing its contents with any intruders.

Despite the warning signs, a mismatched crew of sea creatures develops a plan to take the clams for themselves. Their approach relies on distraction, quick movement and what they believe to be intimidation, although their methods are far from refined. Their strategy unfolds in simple steps: draw the Manta Ray away, collect the clams, and attempt to appear threatening, even if that final part remains unresolved.

The narrative leans into a light, comedic tone as the group attempts to navigate reefs and avoid detection while executing their plan. The result is a sequence of escalating complications as each attempt to gain control of the treasure adds further disorder to the situation.

Pearl Collection and Trigger Systems Shape Gameplay Flow

Within the gameplay structure, Pearl symbols appear during the base game across the reels, with a limit of one per reel. When collected, they are gathered by the Manta Ray positioned above the main play area. Accumulating three Pearls can alter the visual presentation of the guardian character, although this effect is purely cosmetic.

Pearl collection also carries a chance of activating the Clam the Prize feature. When triggered, players select a clam that determines both Free Spins and additional boosters.

Possible outcomes include six Free Spins with three boosters, eight Free Spins with four boosters, or ten Free Spins with five boosters. If GO Ultra is active, both Free Spins and booster values increase by one step.

Free Spins Round Adds Layered Bonus Effects

Before Free Spins begin, players select from eight pearl options to reveal additional enhancements. These boosters correspond directly to those awarded in the Clam the Prize feature, creating a linked progression between base play and bonus rounds.

Available enhancements include additional Free Spins, stacked or sticky wilds across multiple reels, random wild drops, multiplier values of x2, x5 or x10, and other reel-based modifiers. Once activated, these effects remain in place throughout the full Free Spins round, which cannot be retriggered once active.

Magnus Wallentin, Games Ambassador at Play’n GO, said: “We loved building a cast that’s more confident than competent, then dropping them into a treasure cove guarded by a Manta Ray who never forgets a missing trinket.”

The release focuses on a character-led underwater scenario where the competing forces of greed and guardianship drive the action forward. Rather than a straightforward treasure hunt, the game presents an unfolding sequence of mishaps as each side attempts to outmaneuver the other in a tightly controlled ocean environment.
