B2B sports betting and iGaming software provider, Metric Gaming, has confirmed the acquisition of Maltese license by the country’s regulator, Malta Gaming Authority (MGA).
As a result, they will also announce the string of many collaborative efforts with a number of European operators by the end of the year. The company already has a UKGC license and the Malta permit is of Class 4.
Important Evolutionary Leap
Last year, Metric Gaming has signed deals with brands such as Befred, Bethard and Sports IQ…
…and now, they are ready to unveil a number of new partnerships with clients that are also licensed by MGA.
The company’s CEO, Martin de Knijff, comments:
“Securing this licence from the MGA is an important step in Metric’s evolution from a start-up to becoming the disruptors-in-chief of an industry ripe for disruption.
We have been thrilled by the market’s reaction to our multi-tenant sportsbook proposition, particularly from Malta-based operators. In the coming days we will announce the first Malta-based sportsbook brands that will be launched using our Modulus platform over the next few weeks.”
Consequence of Investment
With this license…
…Metric will be allowed to deliver their products and services to customers that also have a license from this jurisdiction and, as De Knijff pointed out, the Maltese license and these new product and services partnerships have come thanks to a period of heavy investments.
In October of last year, Metric sealed the $10 million funding round.
Adds de Knijff:
“We’ve spent the last three years and significant capital developing an organisation and product proposition capable of solving the biggest challenges facing the B2B sector of our industry. He also said that he is confident that the level of customization that is coupled with the company’s superior sports betting products and features will deliver leapfrog ability for customer over their rivals.

MGA license is getting more and more important it seems. I wonder if there is a ranking system that would establish whose license is the most “powerful.”
