World-leading provider of casino software, Microgaming, has made some overwhelming steps in securing its position in the market. The brand is popular for its PlayItForward project, a charitable initiative that has contributed more than £120,000 in donations since its establishment.
After six years of the initiative, the provider is still looking to change the game for users, place, and planet while being dedicated to corporate social responsibility.
Outreach of Program
Microgaming employees support the PlayItForward program and they are completely free to propose an initiative or vote for ideas, aiming to receive support from the charitable scheme.
PlayItForward was established in April 2018 and has ever since then collected more than 7,800 votes and 55+ staff suggestions. Just in 2019 alone, 12 charitable initiatives were candidates for receiving support from PlayItForward. Additionally, more than 30 worthy causes were proposed by staff, resulting in £50,000 in donations, together with guidance, volunteer possibilities, and practical support.
The Microgaming charitable program has supported a lot of organizations in their initiatives. Some of them are Isle of Man-based Huntington’s Disease Association, The Children’s Centre, Greenhills Sanctuary IOM, Victim Support Isle of Man, and Marown Bowling Club.
The program also supports individuals in their endeavors and overall contributions to the community. One of the obvious examples is resident Jake Hodgson who received the votes for purchasing the equipment, walking boots, trainers, a road bike, and cycling clothing, to back up his initiative in the fight against Alzheimer's disease.
Statements
Commenting on the Microgaming program, CEO of Microgaming, John Coleman said:
“April 2020 marks two years since Microgaming PlayItForward officially launched a dedicated space for employees to nominate and vote for worthy causes close to their hearts, resulting in more than £120,000 being donated to charity. The staff-driven initiative aims to drive employee engagement, encouraging active participation with our CSR program, and giving us the framework to get directly involved in communities worldwide as we continue to do good and implement positive change.”
Chairman at Huntington’s Disease Association IOM, Helen Martin noticed:
“Microgaming building a website for us will help us reach those families affected by Huntington’s disease who don’t feel they can attend a support group. Huntington’s is a disease that is very hard to talk about if you’re not ready. The information on the site keeps them up to date with what we are doing and how we can help them – it is also great for raising awareness and funds.”
