Back Microgaming to Employ Megaways Mechanic in Upcoming Slots

Following the path of success at Pragmatic Play, Red Tiger and Blueprint Gaming, whose development teams integrated the iGaming industry’s most innovative mechanic, MEGAWAYS, Microgaming has finally clinched a deal with the Australian studio Big Time Gaming, allowing it to employ the trademarked payout system in numerous upcoming slots.

By working alongside a whole network of independent software contributors, Microgaming will launch Megaways in a suitable new set of titles on the platform, including Shamrock Holmes, scheduled for network-wide release in January 2021.

Since 2016

It’s been four years since Big Time Gaming launched Megaways, whose main factor is to ramp up player engagement. Unlike the standard or pays-both-ways grids, this system is a lot more dynamic, specifically created to deliver a fast-paced gaming experience.

To clarify, its random reel modifier system enables any given spin to produce an ever-changing number of symbols across the reels, enabling users to experience a totally different outcome each time. Megaways offers hundreds of thousands of possible ways to win, providing hours of fun for the player.

John Coleman, CEO at Microgaming said about the landmark agreement with BTG:

“Megaways™ has had huge success and we’re excited to be integrating the mechanic into some of our future games. Big Time Gaming are proven innovators, and we are delighted to extend our relationship with them and grow their presence on our platform.”

Nik Robinson, CEO at Big Time Gaming replied:

“We’re on a mission to bring the Megaways™ revolution to a bigger audience, and they don’t come much bigger than Microgaming. These guys were industry pioneers and today they remain one of the biggest forces in the gaming space. As ardent slots fans, we’re delighted to be contributing in a small way to the Microgaming story.”

First Game in the Making

Set to launch in January next year, Shamrock Holmes is now a huge deal for the company, as it represents its first Megaways slot machine. According to the studio, the game will offer great potential, exciting and highly rewarding features as well as dynamic gameplay, taking all players on a trip through Ireland’s greenest fields.

The setup with 6 reels and up to 117,649 ways to win is featuring Rolling Reels, extra rounds and multipliers, which can be re-triggered indefinitely. In regard to payouts, the next revolutionary slot by Microgaming and BTG will dish out wins up to 28,000x total stake, while the RTP is more than excellent, seeding high at 96.44 percent.

Meanwhile, the suppliers have already launched Chocolates at the end of September, a super volatile slot intended for sweet-toothed fans. After an exclusivity period, the game is available at any Microgaming online casino from October 12th.

Apart from the lip-smacking cocoa confectionery, Chocolates features the legendary chocolatier, José Cavadoré, who is on a mission to give away golden tickets that grant a sensational path to riches.

There is also a host of October releases at everyone’s disposal, and Microgaming decided to dedicate this month to new progressive jackpots, epic jungle quests, safari roadways as well as a selection of heavy-hitters from its growing network of exclusive partner studios. Among the latest releases are African Legends, Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar, Western Gold, 777 Royal Wheel and more.
