Back Mohegan and Hard Rock Prepare Lawsuit Against Greece Regarding Tender Delays

Inspire project in Athens has been seen as a simple and short-consuming idea. However, Greek officials have made several excuses regarding the delay of the project and the submission of bids by interested parties. The application phase has seemed to approach the end when new delays came to light. At the moment, both applicants for Athens resort license are ready to sue Greece due to the cancelation of the project. It seems that the nation faces international embarrassment and serious complications.

More About the Project

Mohegan and Hard Rock International have been the most persistent candidates in the struggle for the Athens Casino Project. Over the previous period, the Greek government has taken miscalculated steps which additionally delayed the entire project. As soon as both operators submitted the paperwork, one of them made a mistake which caused an additional delay of the project. It is expected that this delay will last up to six months.

Hard Rock International made a mistake regarding faux pas which seems to be a small problem for the operator. According to speculations, HRI can be disqualified from the final race which will result in the operator’s lawsuit against Greece. Mohegan Sun is, on the other hand, ready to sue the country if it awards the construction of the project to Hard Rock.

Expectations

Most of the gambling public expected to have a brand-new Greece venue by the end of the year. However, now it seems unrealistic as the country will probably face a lawsuit from one of the applicants. Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, should make a decision having in mind this problem and the local economy shouldn't suffer.

The Hellinkon casino idea has been around for about five years. However, even today we have no clear idea about the completion of the project. During the ruling period of the Syriza Party, Greece officials didn't want to accept investments from international companies. As soon as the government has undergone the reconstruction, the country seems to make some significant steps regarding Athens Casino Resort. It remains to be seen whether Greece will be ready to take additional moves and keep the local economy under control. Next months come with a lot of excitement from Greece and some issues are expected.
