Back Nolimit City Expands Hunters Series With Duck Hunters: Happy Hour

Nolimit City has released Duck Hunters: Happy Hour, returning to the setting and mechanics of its earlier Duck Hunters title while introducing new gameplay elements and an increased maximum payout. The release adds another entry to the provider’s Hunters series, which also includes Gator Hunters, and builds on features that proved popular in the original game.

Duck Hunters: Happy Hour retains the core structure players are familiar with, while altering the reel layout and expanding the bonus feature set. The game uses a 4-5-6-6-5-4 reel configuration, creating a wider reel area designed to support larger symbol interactions and escalating multipliers. Each winning position begins with a 2x multiplier, which doubles with every subsequent win on that position and can reach as high as 8192x.

Reel Structure and Core Mechanics

The reel area introduces several mechanics that influence symbol behaviour and multipliers. Bomb symbols can land anywhere on the reels and detonate in a 3x3 area, removing adjacent regular paying symbols. When a Bomb explodes, it doubles the multipliers on affected positions before transforming into a special symbol.

The game also incorporates Nolimit City’s xWays® and Infectious xWays® mechanics. xWays® symbols transform into regular paying symbols and increase the multiplier by 2x, 4x, or 8x. Infectious xWays® extend this effect further by applying the same multiplier increase to all matching symbols on the reels once revealed.

These features work together to create escalating win potential during base gameplay, while also setting the stage for the game’s bonus rounds.

Bonus Spins and Feature Upgrades

Landing three Bonus Symbols in the base game triggers seven Duck Hunt Spins. During these spins, position multipliers carry over, allowing wins to build across the feature. Before the free spins begin, one of three upgrades is randomly awarded. These include an upgrade that replaces standard xWays® with Infectious xWays®, a Bomb upgrade that prevents mid-paying symbols from appearing, or an Extra +2 Shots upgrade that replaces the standard extra spin symbol.

Four Bonus Symbols activate eight Hawk Eye Spins, which follow the same structure but award two random upgrades instead of one. When five Bonus Symbols land, players enter ten Big Game Spins, where all three upgrades are applied simultaneously.

An Extra Spin feature also returns, allowing players to purchase an additional spin when its cost does not exceed the current win amount.

Volatility and Release Details

Duck Hunters: Happy Hour carries an “Extremely Volatile” rating and offers a maximum payout of 33,333x the base bet. According to Nolimit City, the design aims to deliver high-risk gameplay consistent with previous titles in the series.

Per Lindheimer, Head of Product at Nolimit City, said: “We weren’t planning on making a sequel, but then happy hour hit and things got a little out of hand. Duck Hunters: Happy Hour is what happens when you mix one of our favourite slots with one too many cold brewskis, resulting in our new 'Happy Hour Spins' feature full of bombs, because why not? It ain’t polite and it sure as hell ain’t for everyone. It was never meant to be sensible, but that’s exactly how we like it.”
