Back Play’n GO Releases Legion Gold Dead Slot

Play’n GO has introduced Legion Gold and the Throne of Deada new addition that combines Roman military imagery with the ruins of ancient Luxor. Set inside a temple engulfed by fire and falling stone, the release places players in pursuit of a legendary throne while introducing several gameplay features built around coins, respins and expanding symbols.

Released on 9 July 2026, the title continues the developer's Legion Gold series while drawing inspiration from the darker themes associated with its Dead collection. The game presents a setting where burning ruins, smoke-filled skies and ancient relics form the backdrop for its bonus mechanics.

According to Play’n GO, the visual design focuses on conflict between imperial ambition and ancient judgement, with crocodiles, snakes, lions and bulls appearing throughout the reels alongside Roman legionnaires.

Bonus Features Built Around Gold Coins

Gold Coins form the foundation of the slot's main bonus mechanics. Landing six Gold Coin symbols activates the Gold Re-Spins feature, where only Gold Coins and Golden Scales appear on the reels.

Coins remain locked in place once they land, while every additional Coin resets the remaining respins. If Golden Scales appear during the feature, they collect the combined value of every Gold Coin currently displayed on the reels.

Gold Coins also contribute outside the main feature. When Coins land without activating Gold Re-Spins or Golden Scales, they move into the Coin Chest. Once enough Coins have accumulated, the Coin Chest opens to trigger a Picker Game in which players match Coins to reveal an Instant Prize.

Mega Spins Add Larger Symbols

Landing three Scatter symbols awards access to Mega Spins. During this feature, a Mega Symbol appears in a random position on every spin.

Players can also retrigger Mega Spins if qualifying symbols land during the feature. Gold Re-Spins remain available as well, with the Mega Gold Coin capable of breaking apart into multiple Gold Coins that contribute toward the bonus round.

Wild symbols are represented by Roman legionnaires and substitute for most regular symbols. They do not replace Scatters, Golden Scales, Gold Coins or Mega Gold Coins.

Theme Combines Roman and Egyptian Imagery

Play’n GO said the game places players inside a version of Luxor Temple where fire spreads through broken columns as a legendary throne waits beyond the ruins.

Magnus Wallentin, Games Ambassador at Play’n GO, said: "Legion Gold and the Throne of Dead has a very clear visual identity from the first frame. Luxor is falling apart around you, but that only sharpens the sense of purpose at the centre of the game. It is bold, severe, and full of that tension between glory and consequence that gives the theme its weight."

The developer describes the throne as both a relic and a warning, while the surrounding environment combines molten light, smoke and damaged temple walls to create the setting for the game's progression. Animal symbols appear frequently during the base game, adding to the visual theme while supporting standard gameplay before players reach the title's bonus features.
