Back Play’n GO Debuts Honey Rush Black and Yellow

Play’n GO has expanded its grid-based slot portfolio with the release of Honey Rush Black and Yellow, a sequel that builds on the mechanics of Honey Rush 100 while introducing a licensed soundtrack and updated gameplay features.

The new title integrates the track "Black and Yellow" performed by Wiz Khalifa, combining music-driven presentation with a high-volatility structure.

Grid-Based Gameplay Replaces Paylines

The game moves away from standard paylines, instead using a 7-reel hexagonal grid where outcomes depend on cluster formations. Players trigger wins by connecting five or more adjacent symbols, activating a Cluster Pays system that drives the core gameplay loop.

Each winning combination contributes to a progressive Rush Meter, which unlocks a series of in-game features. These include Drone, Worker, and Queen Colony mechanics, each designed to expand symbol clusters across the grid. Depending on the feature activated, clusters can range from smaller formations to larger spreads of up to 37 symbols.

As symbols clear and cascade, new ones drop into place, extending gameplay sequences and increasing the potential for consecutive wins. The structure focuses on maintaining continuous movement across the grid, supported by visual and mechanical changes during play.

Features Add Movement And Bonus Potential

Additional elements influence gameplay through shifting positions and bonus triggers. Walking Wilds appear on the grid with multipliers of up to 3x and remain in place as sticky symbols. After each winning cascade, they move to a different position, altering the layout and contributing to further combinations.

Cash Symbols also appear during spins, revealing multipliers once the grid settles. If these symbols do not form part of a winning cluster, they are collected by a Bee positioned beside the grid. As more symbols accumulate, the Bee can activate an Instant Cash Bonus, awarding prizes that include Mini, Minor, Major, or Grand tiers.

The Rush Meter plays a central role in maintaining game flow. Each level reached unlocks a Colony feature, which clones the centre symbol outward to create new clusters. If no further wins occur while the meter remains charged, the next feature in sequence activates automatically, extending the round.

Music Integration Shapes Overall Experience

The inclusion of a well-known track forms a key part of the game’s presentation. According to the developer, the audio component influenced both the pace and structure of gameplay.

Magnus Wallentin, Games Ambassador at Play’n GO, said: “When you secure a track as recognizable as Wiz Khalifa's ‘Black and Yellow’, you have to build an experience that matches its energy. A great soundtrack like that deserves some explosive mechanics. This exceptional soundtrack, along with our evolving RUSH meter and shifting multipliers, quite literally brings an entirely fresh rhythm to the series.”

The overall design combines visual motion, cascading mechanics, and music-driven elements to shape the player experience. The setting draws on a stylized hive environment, where symbol movement and feature activation occur in sync with the game’s pacing.

With Honey Rush Black and Yellow, Play’n GO continues to expand its cluster-based slot series while introducing new elements tied to audio and feature progression.
